    Stress and the band

Wow - I can't believe this thread! I have been under EXTREME stress/pressure due to interim job situation. I have never experienced any PB's or even uncomfortable feeling since being banded in March (2 fills since). However, this morning, I actually had to pull over while driving to work because I felt a bit ill. Then at lunch I had the same situation. I thought maybe it was because I was re-thinking the stress while I was eating and was just SHOVING in the food! By the way - PB = Productive bump. Not exactly the same as vomiting as the food is still in the little pouch and not mixed with the digestive juices in our stomachs. I've heard it can be very painful!
  2. Hi Ebeth, I notice some pretty harsh statements on this blog - some from people responding to your question and some from you. I have seen some of your other threads before and it looks like you are trying to sabotage yourself. If we knew what was best for ourselves, we wouldn't be in the situation of needed surgery to lose weight. I really recommend you try your very best to follow your Dr's advice - he/she knows what is best for you. It gets easier and easier - really it does. Be really mindful after your fill - you don't want to hurt yourself! I am going to keep a good thought for you and your success!

    Countdown to Onederland!

Flowers - you can do it! You did it before so you know you can and how good it feels. Spend some time first thing in the morning and last thing at night picturing yourself in your beautiful cruise dress! Hang in there!

    What about alcohol?

Ebeth - I saw your other post - please follow your Dr. orders. Drinking will only sabotage your weight loss. Hold on!

    Have i already screwed myself??

Ebeth - Please stop eating foods that are not on your list - you do not want to damage yourself permanently. You do want the band to do its job and it won't be able to do it if you sabotage it. You might not feel restriction yet, but look at how much you have lost without the band. You can do it! Hey - if I can you can. I was banded on 3/24 and have lost 45 pounds - I had my 2nd fill today and just now feel 'restriction'. Take care of yourself!

So, are people beginning to "notice"?

:thumbup:I travel quite a bit for my job and spend little time in my 'home' site. I think I was there for one week in April (right after surgery) and I was there last week. It was really fun as so many people commented on how great I look! Some commented on my weight loss, some thought it was my new hair cut - but it was a terrific boost to my confidence! I have lost about 45 pounds (starting 1 month prior to my surgery) and it is really noticeable in my face! I don't have the bloated cheeks or double chin! My husband teases me that I have a 'shrunken head'! I can hardly wait for the rest of my body to catch up!!!!

My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!

I LOVE this thread! NSV! I have had a few - - The airplane seat belt fits just fine now - with about an inch to spare! I fly nearly every week and prior to surgery I had to push myself back in the seat and suck it in as much as I could to get it fastened! - I no longer pee my pants when I laugh, sneeze or cough! Life is so good! - The other day, I caught myself crossing my legs! I love to sit with my legs crossed, but haven't been able to for a few years now! I'm going to be on the look out for my next NVS!!! I can hardly wait!

    Progress Pics, Anyone?

Wow - what a difference 40 pounds makes! You look great! I started at 248 and I'm currently at 206 - I wish I would have taken photos! I am going to get the camera right now to start documenting my weight loss - it will help during the slow times!

    Big Mistake!?

Give it some time - you just had surgery 3 days ago! I had the neck and shoulder pain for about 7-10 days after surgery and it would lessen as each day passed. I had surgery in March and I've lost about 30 pounds since then - but what is the best is that I am out of the 'food fog' I had been living in for years! It was 100% worth it!

I really have no idea how to post or do anything on the computer besides my regular work! Are there instructions anywhere?

    Countdown to Onederland!

I was at 206.6 today - so close to Onederland, but yet so far!!! I just had my first fill on Monday, so I believe that will propel me along! My surgery date was 3/24 so it seemed like a long time from surgery until my first fill date. So far so good after the fill!

I want to join Onederland! I'm a novice to websites/blogs/threads - or whatever you call them! I was banded March 24, 2008 and have 12 pounds or so to go to onederland! It has been one of my major milestones on my weight loss journey! I can hardly wait!:woot:
