Freaking out.....seven incisions?
Don't stress yourself out so much. If your doctor thinks you are a good canidate for the surgery you probably are. And yes there are 7 small incisions, but they are very tiny and WAY better then having to open you up completly to do the surgery. Think of them like small cat scratches or something. I totally understand the feeling of failing as I am not doign so well myself, but just keep your head up this is an informed decision you and your doctor made. Good Luck!

Banded in Prague anyone??
wow Prague, you should go a few days early just to sight see. That's excellent. My band was done in Portugal so I'm not sure about Prague. Where are you coming from to go there?

15 days to go.
Good luck with it, it was really hard for me too I only cheated once which I think was pretty good. I just always had something on hand to drink so I didn't go to any thing else. And a wide variety of things as well. Good luck with everything! Let us know how it turns out.

Gas
I have been WAY gassier since being banded. My poor hubby has to put up with it. I teach and sometimes I have to really hold it in as well. Once in awhile it slips but fortunatly it was at times when the kids were so loud no one noticed. (I hope) I'm not sure about taking drugs to help with it, I'm actually not really sure what to do, let me know if you come up with a solution.

Too tight...for a long time?
I can't say that I haven't experienced this before but congrats on the weight loss. It's good that you have an unfill scheduled. I would make sure to discuss these things with your doctor to see what they think. Vomiting a lot is not a good sign. Let us all know how this turns out.

Slippage: Causes? Treatment?
Hi Linda, Slippage can happen for a number of reasons it's best to leave it to your doctor to say why. But usually if it's just minor they will give you a complete unfill and hope that it goes back into place. If it turns out to be severe they may have to actually do another surgery to correct it or remove it. Hopefully you will just need an unfill and it will go back...keep us updated.

Brown Bag'in It
Hey girl! How ya been doing?! Is that you in the photo?! You look great! I asked my doc on the phone when I made an appt. so she said to stick to Protein Meal Replacement bars or shakes. So I'm going to try that. I found these really nice cottage cheese and fruit combo thinggies in the yougert isle that I eat for a snack that give me some good protein.

Loose Skin
Hey Joen, I think each individually person is different depending on their age, how long they have been overweight, how overweight they are etc. I had one doctor tell me that because I have been overweight my entire life I would most likely have saggy skin and would need plastic surgery, but I had another doctor tell me that because I'm still fairly young (27) my skin should still go back and I shouldn't have a problem. I think your best bet is to lose weight and find out!

questions about pre-op diet
Hi there, You should really speak to your doctor about those things because each situation is different. My doctor has always told me that Protein is the most important, but we also need our fiber. So both are important. I have used the 100% Wey protein and I like it for the most part but its a bit gritty. I'm going to try a new kind that I found online, you can PM me if you would like the link.

Hi from Houston, TX
I think most people get them from tickers.com but just do a google search for weight tickers and you will get some different websites. You create your own and then you can copy and paste the link into your signature.

Brown Bag'in It
Okay, so as a school teacher I have 24 min. to eat my lunch. Actually more like 15 min after I drop the kids off and go back to pick them up. I seem to always get stuck at lunch because I'm trying to scarff my food down and that just doesn't work with the band.:tt2: Any suggestions for an easier lunch that is healthy but that can be eatten quickly?
