Preop Nurse Discouraging the Band
I think you answered her very respectfully and appropriately. Good for you. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVerybody has thier own theory. Best someone like that to keep a neutral attitude. good for you and good luck with your upcoming surgery. I would be elated if for each of the last 3 years I lost 30 pounds. 30 +30 +30 = 90

What is this heroine????
In prep for my surgery in July, I have been reading lots here and adjusting my food habits. One thing I cut cold turkey is sodas. I always drank diet 7-Up or diet vanilla Coke. I only ever drank one day, more on weekends. Oh my did I get a strong craving for it the other day. It isn't the sugar because I drank diet, it could be the caffeine, but what I really craved was the carbonation. So I was joking with myself that they must put HEROINE in to keep us addicted. I haven't given in but still crave it quite strongly. oh well, better find out now hey?

Doc Thinks I'm Nuts
That happens to me WITHOUT the band. I must be nuts too. Perhaps it has to do with blood sugar levels falling and hunger increases????

Sigh, waiting is PAINFUL!
Poodles, I have started to try to change my habits too. The worst one so far and it surpirses me is giving up my diet pop. I actually CRAVED a diet vanilla Coke the other day. None in the house, the craving passed, but it sure surprised me. I am also a teacher, but home with 3 kids and not too much in a hurry to go back. ha! My dear friend of many years, a middle school principal, had her operation on July 12 and I am happy to report that she has lost over 100 pounds and looks AWSOME! She was glad to have most of the summer off to recoup. Keep in touch all us Waiters.

No respect for Mandisa on American Idol!
OMG, I know what you are talking about. I haven't been an avid watcher, but I thought those 3 were safe. Manidsa is one incredibly beautiful woman, holyyyyyy! I hope she makes it anyway, in spite of them.

Sigh, waiting is PAINFUL!
Ha, I'll be fine. It's a Canadian issue. We are self pay and on the West Coast, and there is but one very busy surgeon. I think another popped up but I haven't persued info on him. Besides this one has more experience. Other than that, I'd have to go to the East Coast, and with a working husband and 3 young kids, that is not a possibility. Sigh, so I will just watch the incredible shrinking you-alls, and get my inspiration here. never mind me, just feeling sorry for myself here. :straight

What size do you want to be?
I am 5' 11" and a bit, I'd love to be a size 14... I am 42years old, I gave birth to 3 kids, a size 14 would be a goal size for me. In fact I am pretty thin at a size 14. 12 would be too skinny...right now I am a 20-22

Sin, yes Sir I broke the rules.

Update: One Week Post-Op
Awsome post. A friend of mine was unable to eat while breastfeeding. Her doctor told her not to worry, that the baby would get what she needed. It would just be taken out of her body. So sip lots of water take care of yourself, and congratulations. I hope to be posting a similar post in July.
