Any fears before WLS? After? What did you fear the most. How did you overcome them? Did any actually come through? I'm so excited for this opportunity to change my life for the best but honestly I'm scared as hell. I reside in nyc have a great medical team working with me but still I'm scared. The closer I get to surgery date the more I think about it. Not knowing the outcome 5-10-20 years from now is killing me. I played out my life after surgery about a 100 different ways in my head. LOL I'm scared of the unknown.

Of course all plans are different, but here's mine:

So I was taken off my iv sometime mid morning the day after my surgery since I'm drinking well and urinating. I was also discharged and home less than 24hrs after surgery. I'm tired and tender but most of my pain I think is gas related so I'm just drinking my water and trying to move around as much as possible. No flatulence or BM yet, just burps. It's really nice to see my little one. Missed him so much.

It’s Sunday night. My surgery is Tuesday. I’ve actually made it through 13 days of a liquid diet and lost 11 pounds. Tomorrow I’m on clear liquids all day. I also am having my teeth cleaned tomorrow.
I am very nervous.
I keep thinking I’m forgetting something.

And usually when you do change your lifestyle, when you start thinking a little more rationally than " I got to eat THAT before someone else grabs it and takes it away!" you will naturally lose some weight, I think I lost 16 pounds from when I transferred to OSU and their program and when I had my pre-surgical appointment with Dr Needleman in Mid- July, so maybe 3 or 3.5 months time . Of course I started with a BMI of 50 or just under, so any weight loss was a GOOD THING. 7 months later I have broken the 40 BMI and the 36 BMI barriers and I am Proud Proud Proud of ME! And I know I could not have achieved this success without Dr Needleman's Magic Stapler and my RnY and my Red- headed Stubborness not t9 give up. If you have followed my journey, you know my trek has not been a straight shot, a lot of hair- pin turns, some quicksand, bumps and detours, but Baby I'm in IT to WIN IT and I shall! FYI I decided I really would shrink my liver, did it the entire month of August 2018 and it paid off handsomely, Dr N said my l8ver was smooth and sleek as a newborn calf. After I reassured myself I wasn't gonna be turned into veal, I realized the compliment he paid ME!

Hello I'm a newbie. Been lurking mostly, but have made a couple of posts.
I am scheduled for RNY on 18th April. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. And I'm hoping that these boards will provide me with the support I am going to need afterward.

April 18th. I'm still getting used to the fact that I committed to the surgery. Do the doubts ever go away?

Yup! My surgery is 4/12/18 !
