wdbass got a reaction from MykMom in Revision from VSG to RNY with hernia repairI had sleeve to by-pass surgery two weeks ago today, as well as repairing a hiatal hernia. My doctor told me that, without the by-pass, the hernia would reappear, possibly within 6 months.
It’s been wonderful to wake up each day without all of the problems related to the hernia. The weight loss is a happy side benefit! -

wdbass reacted to catwoman7 in Feeling coldit's really common. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it doesn't. I was like that the first few months, but not anymore - but it seems to be permanent with some people.

wdbass reacted to AnotherGuy in Feeling coldI am a member of the "Polar Bear Club." It has not gone away...although I am no longer cold most of the time, just some of the time.

wdbass reacted to lizonaplane in Feeling coldMany people start to be cold all the time. I was always cold before the surgery and now I'm not so cold, because I work out more. I'm not as cold when I exercise. See if you feel warmer after a walk. I find that when I'm sitting all day (which is happening right now due to a knee injury) I'm very cold. Usually I would walk on the treadmill when I start to get cold and I'd be warm for a few hours after just 10 minutes of brisk walking.
You can also try drinking hot tea or soup.

wdbass reacted to GradyCat in Feeling coldI've seen people on here talk about being members now of the "Polar Bear Club" because they're cold all the time.

wdbass got a reaction from ClareLynn in Revision from VSG to RNY with hernia repairI had revision surgery 10 days ago to resolve my problems with GERD. My surgeon said that, without converting from the sleeve to by-pass, my hiatal hernia would return within 6 months.
Despite the adjustments required for the by-pass, it’s been wonderful waking up each day without feeling that I have a bonfire burning inside me! -
