  1. I live in the Rochester area. Had my surgery at Mayo.
  2. I am up walking all the time. Not outside but just trying to keep busy at home. I have never really been a TV watcher so I am getting bored. My surgeon made me take off 4 weeks so I am looking for things to keep me busy. I live in Minnesota if the weather was warmer I would spend most of my time outside.
  3. Not that I want any problems or issues but I am worried as to when it may happen. I am a 10 Days postop and have had no side effects. Got out of the hospital at 24 hours on Tylenol. Started purée 3 days ago and all has gone really smoothly. I drink about 4 ounces of water every 15 minuets.
  4. I had surgery rny on 3/8. I also have the same issue. I figure since all I am putting in is fluids that’s all that is going to come out. I started purée today so will see if it changes any.
  5. I turned 50 in January had RNY 3/8. Decided for my 5th present to myself was the finally get healthy for me. Going good so far.
  6. I am also from Minnesota. So about 35 miles from the Mississippi.
  7. So sorry to hear about kidney stones. From what I’ve seen from patients in the ER where I work it’s some of the worst pain. I hope you heal quickly.
  8. 3 Days postop from bypass and feeling good. Got up this morning started a load of laundry and made my son and granddaughter breakfast. I am still going to take it easy throughout the day but feel like I could do more.
  9. RYGB done yesterday. Everything went well. I took a lot of naps yesterday but was able to get a couple of walks in. Dr. Just came in and said it looks as if I will get there go home this afternoon. Now if this snow storm that is supposed to hit holds off.
  10. Today’s the day. Good luck March 8thers. I’m nervous yet excited.
  11. I am scheduled for bypass on 3/8. I am wondering after 6 weeks are you able to drink water faster than right after surgery? I am not able to stop and drink every 15 minuets to be sure I get my water in. I am hoping that by 6 weeks postop I can drink more at one time so I will not have to drink as often. I know everyone is different. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Only 1 week left. Saw the dietician and surgeon today and was surprised when they didn’t put me on any type of a preop diet. Just said nothing after 8 pm the night before.
  13. I didn’t get a preop diet either. I am going to just do high protein low carb much like after. I figured I might as well start. The week before I am going to do a liquid diet much like the others on this forum day they have to do.
  14. Did anyone do a complete clean out of their pantry before surgery? I am thinking about completely emptying my pantry. My husband barely eats so he would not really care. I have made over a months worth of meals for my son and have them in the freezer. I am just thinking if I clear the pantry when I go to solids I can start fresh with only healthy foods. What have others done?
  15. Pug-Mom-Patti I am March 8th also.
  16. Hi all I am new and have been looking around on the forums for the past couple of days. Pretty much to the point of addiction. I am scheduled to have surgery on March 8 for gastric bypass. I started the process in September and everything is going well. My insurance is awesome only waited about 2 weeks after I finished my group classes to get approved. Thanks to all the advice on preop I I feel ready to go waiting the next month is going to be hard. I am only required to do the liquid diet the week before surgery but from everything I have read on here I am going to start a lot earlier. Look forward to reading more about all of your experiences. SW 276 CW 258 GW TBD haven’t set that yet.
  17. I am keeping mine private. My husband and 2 of my children that I see daily. I love my Mom but she is very judgmental and I don’t want to deal with negativity. My boss at work knows as I will have to take time off as for my coworkers I will just tell them I am having a procedure done. I am scheduled to have my surgery March 8. My husband is scheduled to have a kidney transplant March 26 so I will be off work until he is at least 3 weeks postop. A lot going on but I need to be healthy not only for myself but for my family.
  18. I just found this site. I have mine scheduled for March 8. I am really nervous but reading all the post has me excited also.
