  1. For any of you who love oatmeal like I do, and also want to get in your protein I think that I may have a recipe for you. Today I am 8 Days post op and I am on a full liquid diet. My nutritionist says that watery oatmeal was okay. So what I have done is the following: I take a premier vanilla Shake with a half of a banana along with a half a cup of quick minute oatmeal. I add nutmeg and vanilla extract, cinnamon. I put it all in a blender and I blend for a good 6 minutes. If I want to have it then I will but I prefer mine to be a little bit warm so I usually put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It is delicious! It's also a great way in getting in your protein and also getting some energy. I have been doing this for the past 2 days and I have to say that it made me regular and I have some energy now. November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

One of the things that I'm noticing is extremes. The extreme ways have cause us to eat in extreme....gain weight in extreme and now we want to lose weight in extreme. It's not healthy. How much weight did you really think your gonna lose in 11 days. Relax. It will happen. Its not your body that has to change but your mind. And me too. I want it gone too. But I'm not 85 lbs overweight overnight. Remember WLS is a tool not a magic wand Take things slow...what else are you watching besides the scale? How are you treating u? One if the things that I know that I needed was to work in the issues underlying my weight. I decided on that table that I was going to treat me better. Sorry if I'm coming across hard...but we have to understand what we are truly working on and attempting to change. Without acknowledgement there is no change. Making this public!!!

One of the biggest thing that I am concerned about as I begin this journey is regain. I promised myself while I was laying on that table that I was not going to ever do this to myself again. I promised myself that I was going to work on the things that I needed to work on that I am no longer going to use food as my lover as my companion as my confidant. So to ensure that I continue on this journey I decided that I was going to go public. It is so easy to stay behind the scenes but I know myself. So today I made a YouTube video and now it's kind of crazy and it's not really for other people is just for me to Chronicle my journey and to keep myself accountable. I know this might be viewed as real silly because really it is a personal Journey but I feel that at this moment I don't want to be a secret anymore. Many bad things has happened to me because of Secrets and going public is actually cathartic. I don't know of any other people feel the way that I do but I guess we all have our own way of coping and embracing this new Journey. Mine is still very very new. I just have been on here and I have to tell you that knowing that there's somebody out there and the responses and support that I have received has been amazing. So I'm thankful to this community for making me feel less isolated and feel welcomed. I hope that I can continue to be a blessing to somebody as you guys have been to me Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lapband to Sleeve

I had the gastric sleeve on 11/28 2018 and I am returning to work on December 12th 2018. Today I'm 6 days post-op and I actually feel really awesome. Today is my best day. For me my only complaint is the gas and that has alleviated a lot since surgery. I don't know about traveling outside of the country and all that stuff but I will tell you as far as my experience is concerned I am recovering really well. The most important thing that you have to worry about is making sure that you stay hydrated getting all of your liquids and is extremely important. Disgusted

No it wasnt. You have to remember that your body is really adjusting and recalibrating after a traumatic event. Don't be hard on yourself or be regretful. You have to also remember that you are not taking in a lot of calories and you are exercising on top of that. Your body may be in complete shock. Despite all of this...the scale is moving in the right direction. Now really ask yourself, without this surgery would you have really lost 6 pounds in that short period of time. If your metabolism is anything like mine ..its a whopping hell no! I was sleeved on 11/28/18...and I know there will be some mental play here...so that is why I decided not to weigh myself. I have been the big girl for so long, I don't want to be in bondage by the scale anymore. That is why I will say to you. You had surgery to free yourself. Dont imprison yourself again with the numbers game. Think about it...the scale will change...but your mindset has to change too. Be patient with you and remember you did this to feel better about you. Whatever is going to out that in jeopardy, stay away from it. I hope I'm not preaching...but I want you to know that you're journey is just beginning..and if you work your tool and be patient...your weight loss goal will come to fruition. Hang in there [emoji8] Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Hey I'm so sorry you are having these symptoms of pain. I dont know howmlong ago your surgery was done but you may be having some gas pains. Could that be it? I have heard other stories that talked about back pain being triggered by gas. Nonetheless definitely discuss further with your surgeon. Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Just did it!!!

Hey yall!!! I just did my vsg yesterday and I have to say I feel really awesome. I am in very little pain if any. My throat did not hurt when I woke up. I was very gassy though. It was a great experience. I was able to ask the surgeon and the anesthesiologist all my crazy questions...like how are you gonna prevent me from dying...lol... but it was actually amazing. The staff was amazing I had really really awful roommates but besides that everything so far in this journey is good. I know that we all have our fears. I'm a mom and a single mom at that. I just didn't want to do anything that would cause me to not be here for my son. However I was just so glad that I woke up I was so happy! And I'm writing this to let any other person who has fears know that it is absolutely normal. Ask questions even if you think they are silly. They're in your mind and not asking them is going to make you become anxious and even more fearful. I have to say that I am now home I have been discharged from the hospital. I am looking forward to the new me. I can't wait to meet her. I've seen glimpses of her throughout my weight loss yo-yo dieting Journey but this too is going to allow me to see you for I really can be. So let me encourage anyone who is thinking about this, for anyone who is about to do this, all will be well. The best thing that you can do is to do your research on your surgeon and once you have a good surgeon with a good reputation you're in good hands. I totally get it. What is getting to me right now is the gas. When I first came home I was fine...but now...the gas pains and struggles are real...I just get up and walk and try to keep active...walking out this gas..but the head hunger is real too. I'm up drinking so ginger tea...and doing laps around the house. That is my only complaint...the gas. Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

This stall is gonna break... right??

I was watching a YouTube video on a person who gave me a different perspective on stalls. Stalls are the body's way of recalibrating itself. You seem to be doing everything correct. Your body just need time. One of the things that I decided to do is not to have a scale as I think you can become too fixated on the number and held captive by it. You're gonna lose weight. And losing weight slowly may not be a bad thing. Just my own perspective Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Just got sleeved yesterday. I feel awesome. It is much better than I anticipated. Anyone having any doubts or fears...it is natural but don't be. I did not have any pain walking up...outside of lots of gas...the first thing I did when I wake up was a huge belch! I thought I was dreaming but when I asked my nurse...he confirmed it. I am so glad that all my fears did nj it come to fruition. Sent from my SM-J737VPP using BariatricPal mobile app
