  1. Hair loss, and lots of it. Im losing so much hair its unreal. I dont know what to do. Any suggestions????? PLEASE
  2. I get my fill this monday. Yay Im happy for that. Im going to aim for 1cc Im just hoping he will do that for me. Anyway, thank you both for the response. Also, on another note, I didnt gain any weight. Thank God for that. Anyway, thanks.
  3. I had an unfill, due to problems, well, today, I ate 4 small slices of pizza, a big no no. I was hungry, but, 4 slices, and I had no restriction. I didnt feel full, and I wanted more. I see my doc on Monday, I have to get the restriction back. I have to its really discouraging me, and for eating that, Im really beating myself up. Those 4 slices was like eating 2 slices of regular pizza size. Anyway. I hate it and I want my restriction back. Its like it passed right through the band. No drinking nothing, Ugggggh. Im failing and I hate it. I was doing great. Now look. Anyway, I had to rant about this. This is killing me mentally.
  4. Ok, my last thread was about the pains I was going through with my fill making my band too tight. Cause I was PBing, and Sliming, and throwing everything I ate back up. Anyway, I went in on Saturday, and got an emergency unfill, and now, since then I have no restriction, and I have gained 5lbs. I feel like a failure, and Im doing exercise, and watching what I eat during the day. I dont get it. Anyway, I see him again, Monday, and I have got to tell him that I need at least 1cc put back in, he took 1 and a half out, I think all I needed was a half taken out. Man Now, I put myself back on liquids because of this weight gain. I dont want to gain anymore. I will be on liquids until I see him again. Im not happy, and I felt horrible when I saw the scale. The problem lies with restriction, when I eat, I dont feel it. I chew and chew, and chew more, and take my time, but nothing. Its like the band isnt there. UGGGGGGH. This is really getting me down guys. Anyway, thought I would share this with everyone. Hopefully I can get back on track Monday. :cursing:
  5. If you have a good doctor, your port wont flip, that is why its good to research. I was banded in june, no problems with my port. No flipping etc. Just depends on the doctor. But, from what I was told there is not pain associated, and I suppose that depends on the person.
  6. This is kinda short, well my husband like big women. And he says that when I do reach my goal things wont change, but I feel they will. And that is my biggest fear. He and I have been seperated for over a year now, and we are finally getting back together. Ive lost a lot so far, and so far, he thinks Im sexy, but then again, Im still a big girl. So, what do I do, just take it day by day, and hope that he wont leave to find another? Oh well thats another story. Kintime. I know what youre going through. I kinda did the same thing. But, to a much deeper level. I settled with my husband cause I thought to myself, who would love me. But, I grew to really love and appreciate him, although we were seperated, due to his anger issues, I still loved him. Anyway, I will write more later when Im not at work and have to go back from break. lol.
  7. I see my doc on the 8th. Meanwhile I have to have liquids. The reason being, I didnt develop this problem to where I was vomiting everything up until I was sick about a month ago. I mean before then yes I would slime and vomit some things. But, for the past month its been everyday, and everything. Believe it or not today, I had bbq, which went down fine, no slime, hurt a little, but it was ok, I would say it was about 3 ozs of bbq, not much. Im trying really hard to get things to do right, but when I see my doc I will get an unfill. Thanks everyone for all the advice. Sometimes I feel like Im the only one going through this. And for a while, I thought that this was what is supposed to happen with the band, but I know that throwing up, well, thats not part of the plan. Its horrible. Also the biggest thing that is happening to me here lately, is I have indigestion. Almost every night. Maybe its from all the vomiting, and my body going into starvation mode. I dont know but my doc will know everything. I dont want anything to happen to my band. Thanks guys.,
  8. Ok, For a while now, well let me start out saying I was banded June 9th Since then I've lost a pretty decent amount, now averaging about 7lbs a month. Anyway, I had only 2 fills. But, here lately, everything I eat Im throwing up. And there is this slime, that is so thick I never seen anything like it. I tell everyone I have medically induced blemia or however you spell it. Its not a funny matter, and in fact Im going a lot of days without eating. Not by choice of course. I dont want to get an unfill, however, my husband wants me to cause he cant stand to see me like this. My biggest problem is Im not exercising as much as I should be so this is really working for me. I dont want to kill what Im already accomplishing, but at the same time, I know I need to eat. Even if it is the right amount. I cant even do that. Everything now, I throw back up. Should I go for a few days liquids only, or should I tell my doctor, and actually get a cc taken out? This is very difficult for me to come on here and ask for help. I havent even been on here because Im so ashamed that for the past 2 months, this has been going on. And I havent told my doctor anything. Im losing hair, when I wash it, so much comes out, I feel in certain spots its growing back. But, this stuff is horrible, I can burp most of the time, and throw up. And as I said before, all the slime. This stuff is thick and horrible. I dont understand it. I need advice on what to do. I know I didnt hurt myself. Or caused strain of some sort. I look forward to hearing from all you. Thanks for listening.
  9. Has anyone had anyone had any soda, or carbonated beverages since their band. I havent. But, Im curious as to who has had soda. I know its forbidden, but, I know someone out there has had it. Let me know. BTW, I havent had Soda since March of this year. :smile2:
  10. I can do liquids fine now. Thank god. And eating is improving a little, this piano is 900lbs... took 4 of us to lift the thing. Uggh
  11. My surgery was in june 6 of this year haven t had any complications so far, yesterday i helped moved some heavy equipment including a piano, having having to lift and strain to lift it up into a truck. Now everything EVERYTHING i eat is getting stuck and i have to throw it back up, other than calling my doctor which is the obvious i need suggestions on what i might of done, and what i can do. Thanks
  12. Ok, if anyone has any questions, or anything please talk to me, and all the others who have been banded. I have learned a lot on my own, about the band. And a lot of the things that I learned, I was never told by the nutritionist. Anyway, when they say chew chew chew, and small bites, LISTEN. Cause when you get your fills, and you dont do as they say food will get stuck, and it will hurt, ad you will throw it back up just for relief. Do not drink while eating, one, it washes through, and 2, sometimes, you will choke as well, and throw it back up. Take your time eating. And importantly, exercise, you will burn more faster, than normal if you do so. Anyway, if you have anymore questions dont hesitate to ask me. Good luck to all of you.
  13. Im finally exercising and losing weight. I was banded of course in June, and have lost a total of 44lbs with no effort to exercise, so now, I have it stuck in my head that I need to exercise, I need to get out and do something and I am. And last night was the first night back to the gym. My best friend went with me, and was my perfect motivation. I done only 20 mins walking, and worked out on some weights. Not a lot of weights. Does anyone know what restrictions we have when doing weights what we can and can not do? I just had my gallbladder taken out. I have now 7 holes in my tummy. Knowing I will have to have plastic surgery to have them removed. Anyway, just wanted to check in and let everyone know about whats going on. Please all write back, let this be just a random thread.
  14. What kind of routine do you have to lose your weight? That was the other question? What are you eating? Exercise, how long and what kind of exercise. Just curious, I seem to be teetering up and down the scale. Not happy.
  15. Checking in on June bandsters, want to see your progress!!!! Me Almost 40lbs lost!!!
  16. I was wondering if we could take it not to lose the weight, but to cleanse. Detoxify. But, she has to drink this stuff for 10 days, its like maple syrup in the pure form cayianne pepper, or however you spell it, and some lemon thing that she bought at the herbal store. And she says that she takes a laxative 2 times a day. I dont think that I can honestly do that, the liquid diet pre op was the hardest, but at least I had some options on what I could eat, with this, its this or nothing. So, Im just looking for a good detoxifyer. If the weight loss occurs, then good. But, I need the protein, and the daily vitamins. Anyway, thanks guys for the response.
  17. Has anyone heard of this and is it recommended for lap band patients? Has anyone done it? Let me know, if you dont know what it is look it up. My co worker is doing the diet, and has lost from it,. It is of course a liquid diet, so, not sure if we are allowed to do it or not.
  18. Ok, my title says it all. I ate a south beach diet meal today, and I figured ok, its small enough, I chew it well I will be ok. NOPE. Uggh and its so aggravating. Anyone else going through this? Im know when I forget to chew, I can have some issues, and it hurts, but then I stop and rest a bit then start it again going slower. Man, that meal did not cut it for me. I hated that. And the fat content wasnt what I had expected. Anyway, Need feedback. I had my 1st fill last week, a week ago today. Maybe I need another.
  19. Youre fine, no worries, please dont fret over this, cause I take pills even after my first fill. And the biggest pill I take is about the size of the last link of my pinky finger. So, no worries. There are far worse things to worry about than that, and so far youre doing great.
  20. Youre doing fine with your protein amounts, my doc said 80 may be pushing it. But, I was doing about 130 grams of protein a day. And no wonder I wasnt losing and gaining instead. I didnt gain much, but, it was enough to discourage me. But also take into consideration, the foods you eat have protein, even if youre drinking, you have to add up all the other protein. Especially in fish, which has high amounts. Cut down on one of the whey bullets, thats my suggestion, cause I was taking the EAS Protein shake that has 42 grams of protein in it. I was doing 2 a day. Plus misc protein. That added up quick. Its not hard to keep the protein up. Youre still doing great. SO keep up the good work. Also too much protein can cause problems with the kidneys. Anyway, I hope this helped.
  21. No my doc just pushed in, and found it, no numbing no nothing, no x ray, it was really surprising. Im sorry you had such a bad experience. I was so anxious, when I was there, but it wasnt that bad. It really depends on your doctor. I think that the more procedures they do, and learn, how to improve certain situations, they can access the port with no problem. My doc said he did extra stitching so that my port wont budge, flip, or rotate. So, all in all I really trust him. He hasnt lied to me once. But, I feel for you, Im sorry for your experience.
  22. After so long, I got it today. And it was rather interesting. It really didnt hurt, although it was a little uncomfortable, cause I had to do a mini crunch, with my left arm behind my head, while he did it. But surprisingly it didnt hurt. He put 5ccs in. Told me that I can eat solids. I need to exercise more. And lay off the high amounts of protein. Cause that was hurting me more than helping me. Everything went smoothly, and I was really pleased. I ate dinner tonight, and felt restriction. Just have to remember I have to take it a lot slower, steadier, and I have to remember what foods hurt. But for those of you who havent had a fill yet, I wouldnt worry too much, the only thing I though was a little painful was when he was pressing in, searching for the port. And that was not with the needle. The needle was nothing. My doctor is great. YAY. Now Im back in the game and 2nd fill will be sept 10th. So, I have to read up on my books, and get some new recipes etc. I have a book just for this surgery, chop full of recipes. And now I can eat solids, Im going to take advantage of the recipes. Even the ones in my south beach diet book. YAY. Just got to get the exercise thing down. Finding a time to get it done is hard.
