Hanging skin
I do have loose and sagging skin in certain areas. I gained my weight really fast (100lbs) in a year so I was covered in stretch marks from my knees to my armpits lol. So that skin hasn't recovered as well as other areas. My breasts have lost most of their volume. My belly is sort of apron like and my inner thighs sag. My arms came right back. But here's the thing: I lost the genetic lottery when it comes to skin. I scar from even the littlest scratch. I knew this was going to happen. Everyone is different and you may be one of the lucky ones who snaps back into place. But I tell you a little sagging skin is well worth it! I can DM pics if you're worried Dont stress!

October 2018 Sleever Hit Goal Just shy of 6 months
Happy surgiversary!!! You're almost at that first goal girl. You'll hit it before you know it! I'm 5'9.5" not quite 5'10" lol for my height 165 is in the "healthy" range. So if I hit that, I'll be soooo excited! Ultimately just walking has been my exercise. I try to get 6 to 10k steps a day. I just bought a treadmill so I can walk more. I work from home and hubby and I share a car. So I don't leave the house much. If I can get back to my H.S. weight of 155 I'd die. 20lbs more just doesn't seem that hard anymore...ya know? We can twin it up!! Lol!!! Please keep me posted on how you're doing!!

WOW! Thank you so much for the advice and support. It's helpful to hear long term success stories. There is always that back-of-you-mind fear of gaining again. I've worked so hard to get here, I can never let myself get back to the way I was. I'm committed to this being a life-long change. Food ultimately NEVER made me happy. Being healthy and buying "normal" size clothing makes me really happy! You're an inspiration, thank you for taking the time to share with me!

October 2018 Sleever Hit Goal Just shy of 6 months
Thank you so much! I'm very happy, yes, seeing it more in my clothes and noticing my pants, etc. are getting too big. I'm getting lots of comments from friends and family who haven't seen me in a while. I was really thin all my life and I still don't feel "skinny". I'm healthier which is what I wanted more than anything. I'm gonna work slowly and see how close I can get to 155, but I am ecstatic. I really didn't think it would happen so fast. 6 months really has flown by. You look amazing, may I ask how you've managed to maintain for 5 years (YOU GO GIRL!!!) and how your pouch has changed...is your intake much more or are you still only able to eat small portions?

October 2018 Sleever Hit Goal Just shy of 6 months
Don't you worry at all. Stalls are part of this journey. I went nearly a month without losing or gaining a pound. It was beyond frustrating. Your body is in total shock, and it can take some time for it to snap back into losing. When that scale stops, start measuring your tummy, thighs, neck, etc. I always felt like I looked thinner during my stalls...I was losing inches but not LB's! It's a real thing, I promise! LOL You will be fine and you will get to start enjoying more "normal" food again, yay!!!!

How long before you went back to work?
I only took 3 days off, but I work from home. I also dont have the luxury of sick time and was saving all of my PTO on a vacation. I feel like after 2 weeks I would've been more prepared to work.

October 2018 Sleever Hit Goal Just shy of 6 months
My weight on the day of surgery was 264. I lost nearly 30lbs on the 2 week liquid preop diet my doctor had me do to shrink my liver. So since surgery I have lost 89lbs you go girl!!! You can do it, whatever makes you happiest, I lose inches when the scale isn't moving...how are you feeling 3 weeks out? I felt like the first 2 weeks were the hardest.

October 2018 Sleever Hit Goal Just shy of 6 months
Hey everybody! I wanted to post in celebration of hitting my weight loss goal just shy of my 6 month mark (5 months and 26 days). I am now 175lbs! I was as thin as a rail in high school and weighed 155 consistently all 4 years. I never thought I'd be this close to my high school weight so quickly. My new goal (which I never thought was possible) is to hit 155 and be done, for my height, I don't want to weigh any less and I don't want to lose my curves. It can be done. Use this tool to change your life and your health! Don't get discouraged or beat yourself up. You can do it. If I can do it, you can do it!!!! I work from home and have led a very sedentary life, just walking and taking the stairs instead of an elevator, parking far across the parking lot at Target...it all adds up and helps! I went from 3-4x Top and bottoms (size 24) to an XL top and L bottoms (size 12) and bra size 42F to 36DDD. I hope if anyone reading this and feels discouraged or has any questions, you can reach out to me and I'm happy to help in any way I can...even if it's just talking it out. I wish everyone nothing but the best and hope you're all happy and healthy!!!

Anyone tried the "Vampire Breast Lift" post op? (Sounds scary I know) LOL
For sure! I get it girl, all the sudden I have deflated balloons on my chest. The stretch marks pop out WAY more and the skin is more crepe-y. Let me know if you find anything else in the meantime and what you come up with

I haven't...made an appointment and had to cancel because of work. Just had a house full of family for the last week so I can go back to concentrating on myself. I'm making an appointment to find out more and will definitely update you once I do!

Pregnant? Waiting to see (Post sleeve with PCOS)
Hey there! I have posted on here before about my PCOS and the reason for doing the surgery was to get healthy enough for pregnancy. Everyone who has PCOS is different and exhibits different symptoms. I personally would have a cycle sometimes several times a month. I've never been one to "miss" my period. I would get heavy multiple periods a month. Over the last few months it's began to regulate and span about 29-31 days. Now I am 8 days late. I've taken several pregnancy tests that all came up negative. Over the weekend I went into the doctor and asked for a blood test to be sure. They told me it would be a few days before I would get the results. Since it's super common for women with PCOS to not get their period for long spans of time, I keep being told "It's just your PCOS". Since this hasn't been my experience, I'm just super confused. I ALWAYS get my period. Anyone else with a similar situation? I'm going crazy waiting to find out.I'm exhausted and weak so I asked them to check my iron levels at the same time too to see if that could be causing those symptoms. Probably not pregnant and just wishful thinking! Ughhhh

Thank you ladies, you know I didn't even think of that. I've always been anemic! I'll talk with my surgeon (who does these cosmetic procedures as well) and see what he says and let ya know. It's just no matter what kind of bra I try they're just not full at the top anymore. It's nothing major, but if this is simple, effective, safe and helps my self esteem...I'm gonna give it a go! We shall see!!! I think eventually I'll get a full blown lift, but I want to be done having babies before I go all out.

I'm so cold
SAME!!! Always cold, I think our bodies our just adjusting, I know on my end, anemia has a hand in it too...Stay warm!!!

Whats short of time frame
My insurance (UHC) required a 6 month waiting period, monthly nutritionist visits, 1 psychiatric evaluation, a monthly check in at the surgeon and one cardiologist visit (which I think was for no reason, I have no heart issues DUMB 2 week liquid pre-op diet got 24 lbs off me, other than that, honestly no weight really had to be lost before the pre-op. My weight fluctuated before hand up and down. But all in all, I started the process in April in 2018 and Sleeved in October 2018.
