I'm a stay at home mom and a returning college student at 35 years old. While my 2 boys, aged 5 and 8 years old are in school, I'm studying to become a registered dental hygienist. I have always been the heavy girl my whole life. I've tried all sorts of diets and all were successful to some degree but my results obviously never lasted. I have decided that the gastric sleeve procedure it what I need to finally achieve real lasting weight loss results. I did not come to this decision lightly. I do this because diabetes runs in my family and I would like to prevent myself from this condition. Additionally, I hate that I don't recognize the woman in the mirror. I hate that I avoid family pictures and that I am essentially cutting myself out of precious family memories. I hate that I lack self-love and confidence and that it negatively affects my love life with my husband. I hate that I sometimes strain to shave my legs, tie my shoes or cross my legs. Enough is enough, I need a permanent tool to help me finally achieve a healthier body. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas but they won't cover my procedure even though I have a BMI at 40 because the also require that the patient also currently has type 2 diabetes. Since my insurance won't help me I've decided to go to Mexico for my procedure. I've decided upon OCC and Dr. Ortiz.
I'll update as things move along...
