The struggle is real!
- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
I work for local government and they used to throw a huge Xmas party for all of the employees a few years ago, but stopped. Now we just have a mini one with the 10 of us since I am in the office of the upper echelon. Albeit a peon myself. I feel bad for everyone else though. Although the five of them did pay out of pocket for the party themselves and now there's 300 employees..... not that they don't have the money but yeah.- Need advice please
I can tell you at 10 days out I was struggggliinngg. like 20oz of water a day and 15g of protein. It wasn't until 4 weeks that's I was able to pick things up.- Need advice please
Wow 12lbs in 10 days is amazing! Everyone keeps saying mg of protein... it should be grams. I am 7 weeks out and my nutritionist and surgeon still don't expect me to hit 63g a day, although I am getting much better at it. I am at about 40-50oz of water a day.- What did your hair look like when it grew back
I already started losing hair. Started at 5 weeks. I am 7 weeks now. I hope it doesn't go on for 7 more months! I will be totally bald! Every time I shower, chunks come out. I shed everywhere. My hair is noticeably thinner. Ohhhh welll I guess. When my mom had chemo and lost her hair, it grew back absurdly tight and curly. Once it got longer, it straightened out.- Straws
Not saying you should... but when I was in the ER they made me drink like 33oz of water and CT contrast super fast through a straw and I had no issues. *shrug* I really prefer straws... cold stuff hurts my front teeth. I'm avoiding them though. For now.- Surgery pain!
I had severe pain for 1 hr post op. After that it was all muscle pain. That lasted about 2 weeks. I didnt have the gas pain everyone talks about. Most say that's about 2 weeks or so.- Post op two days. So much pain and discomfort.
Dang they gave me no pain meds in the hospital. lol! When I got home the only real pain I had was severe muscle soreness. I took some Tylenols a few times. and just rested.- Anyone around age 22?!
I JUST turned 30 (had RNY a few weeks ago at 29). I am 100% planning on needing plastic surgery. I have batwings for days. No way that is all snapping back. lol. And super thick stretch marks on my butt and stomach. Those don't return to normal.- Strictures with Regurgitation?
I guess it depends on what the surgeon has to say. Just trying to get a feel for what a stricture would... feel like. I still have about another full bottle of Carafate to finish before my treatment for the ulcer would be fully complete, and I won't finish it by the 7th. Also my insurance rolls over on the 1st so I really hope I don't have to pay for another endoscopy. The last was free because I hit my out of pocket.- What do you eat for breakfast?
I always have a greek yogurt. Easy to grab and bring to work. On the weekends, maybe cottage cheese or eggs or a shake. Nothing fancy.- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
Yes, poor Stu is meant for warmer climates. lmao. I guess I'll have a 15' weird pine tree in my basement so my cats can't eat him.- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
So far my mom and stepdad are getting the Panera and DQ gift cards. The candy will probably go to them or my dad. The sparkling cider will pair nicely with the box of chocolates for my aunt. Stu... I'm keeping him. Not sure on the bread tray yet. I have tons of dishes and trays already. May regift it to my grandmother. *shrug*- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
Hahaha I am not a fan of Panera. My mom called dibs on it.- Strictures with Regurgitation?
Does having a stricture always mean you will regurgitate? I no longer have the burning sensation from where my ulcer is. But generally in the same area, every time I swallow it feels like something gets stuck. Like a hard lump. But then it passes through. This is even with liquids. I can't tell if it's just remnant pain from a healing ulcer or if it could be a mild stricture, not quite tight enough to cause "back-flow". Doc said if my ulcer heals and I have no pain I don't need a repeat endoscopy, but this new sensation is strange and I can't tell what it's from. I don't spit anything back up. My next appointment with him is Jan 7.- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
GUYS. I JUST GOT ANOTHER GIFT. IT'S A BREAD TRAY. OMGGGGGG. lmao.- How often do you do measurements/progress pics?
I've decided not to do progress pictures. I just want to see the one big dramatic change at the very end, post-plastic surgery. BUT, I finally got the courage to try on a smaller pair of pants I fit into last year and sized out of, this morning, and they fit! I like the idea of buying clothes one size down and then just trying those on every, say, 10lbs down and seeing how closer they are to closing or fitting correctly. I've also decided to weight once every 1-2 weeks. I've become way too obsessed with the scale and instead of just seeing 1lb go every few days, it'd be nice to get on and see that 5lbs are gone!- What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
Preface: All my bosses (I have 6) know I recently had gastric bypass (7 weeks ago today). Christmas presents have been trickling in... so far I've received... 1) A large basket of candy 2) Panera and Dairy Queen gift cards (My mom and stepdad have called dibs) 3) Sparkling cider (Regifting to my aunt next week) 4) A tropical pine tree that must stay indoors and grows to 15' tall (everyone else got candied nuts, but I guess he paid attention and realized I couldn't have those) I cannot stop laughing at my little (eventually gigantic) tree. I've named him Stu. He's covered on confetti and on my desk. It's the thought that counts, guys. lmao. Ohhhh my.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
I seriously spent way too long googling volume versus weight. I am just assuming liquids are volume and dense stuff is weight. Unless it's in between, like puree or cottage cheese. Then either works. HA. Science.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
But regardless, I'm nowhere near that. Even if I was allowed it... I can't stomach more than 3oz of anything at this point. I do do a yogurt and can do 4oz of cottage cheese. Nothing else though.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
Like I was told to get a food scale. Measures by weight and has a bowl for liquids for volume.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
I assume by weight because how do you measure the volume of steak? lol.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
Diet plan has me increasing to 5 oz protein and 1 to 2 oz veggie next week. But I'm trapped at 2oz puree foreverrrr.- It's okay! I can bring my own food!
Yeah yeah. I should have been on soft foods 3 weeks ago and full foods next week. So grumbly for having this ulcer. - What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses
