  1. My doctor only wrote down by first weight. I am right on the borderline with a 40 BMI. The last time I got weighed I left my boots on just to be careful.
  2. You look great with the wig or without it!
  3. I've had a ton of laser hair removal. I'm doing my full legs now. It's awesome not to shave anymore. It's not cheap but neither are the razors, shaving cream, and time I used to put into it. Going once or twice helps but most areas need 6+ treatments.
  4. I was told not to use my treadmill until I got the OK and I was like why? why? why? Apparently people can overdo it without realizing it.
  5. My dad is one of the top researchers on nausea. If your doctor says it's OK I would take capsules of ginger, like 4 250 mg capsules a day. This really works for a lot of people.
  6. I'm doing the same thing. I'm telling people I had a medical procedure and also went on a medically restricted diet at first to explain having little containers of protein shake and such at my office. Later I will just tell people I'm eating less and exercising. All true, pretty much! I also like to ask people questions back, like "Why do you ask?"
  7. The laugh was helpful to me.
  8. The passionfruit is an acquired taste! Anyone have a fave?
  9. Four days until surgery. The liquid pre-op diet + no coffee has me a little weak and confused. But excited!
  10. I'm drinking a 20 oz. Isopure passionfruit protein drink with 0 carbs, 40 grams protein and 160 cal. It's an acquired taste.
  11. My surgery is the 15th and I have a bad cold today! I have an apt. at the hospital and with my PCP tomorrow, so I hope they can get be better by then!
  12. Absolutely! Just drink and walk as much as you can without putting too much strain on yourself.
  13. I started with a BMI of 40 and no comorbidities and was told to maintain and not gain any more. Now it's a week before my surgery and I'm following the prep diet so losing a little is OK. I went from my first apt. to surgery in 8 1/2 weeks so I didn't mind maintaining the weight I've had for the past year +.
  14. I tapered off coffee, got on a vitamin, calcium +D, and biotin, got food for my prep, got some 2 oz. containers for after, bought a treadmill and started walking on it, and did a lot of reading about the procedure. I start prep tomorrow because it's 1 week until surgery!
  15. My dietician recommended Isopure Zero Carb water. It comes in a few flavors. I ordered it from https://www.vitaminshoppe.com .
  16. Thanks! This validates the point I was trying to make. This is underreseached and could be helpful at some point in the future. I'm going to stop following the thread because some comments seem overly personal and critical.
  17. Thanks, I'm not going to. I was just interested in the topic and research potential.
  18. Actually, no. It's more of curiosity about the topic. I don't need validation to get high, and as I mentioned, I don't like the feeling of being stoned.
  19. You are NOT a failure. If you lost the weight without surgery, the most likely outcome would be gaining it back (like I did.) I really like this article. https://highline.huffingtonpost.com/articles/en/everything-you-know-about-obesity-is-wrong/
  20. Yeah, that's why I wrote organic AND without preservatives. One thing I've learned here is all of our recommended plans are pretty different!
  21. They make baby food that's organic and without preservatives. Like pears in pear juice. Sodium is actually a good for you, with all that water. That's why they recommend V8. It's really just reading the label. Of course do what your doctor said, mine just had a different opinion on them.
  22. That is true but there are many ways to get marijuana into your system without smoking it. Making tea or eating pot in food are popular ways. That I was concerned about. I was just re-reading my booklet from my doctor and it required quitting cigarettes and marijuana, which I didn't think about at the time, because I don't smoke either. That being said, I would think it should be researched (there were many years of prohibition on researching marijuana) as a treatment for pain/nausea.
  23. Marijuana is legal where I live. Yet broaching the topic with a doctor can be awkward. Where it's legal, you can pick strains for different things like nausea, pain, and not making you hungry. I don't smoke or eat it because I don't really like feeling stoned, but I wondered if anyone had success with it for nausea.
