  1. Gastric sleeve on the 22nd of october.. I've lost 20 pct of my excess weight as of today. Hw:496 Sw:476 Cw:412 :[emoji3]
  2. About 2 or 3 weeks.. for most of the post op side effects to go away. For me at least.
  3. Been a bit since I've posted.. and I am down a good bit since my date.. which was 10/22.. but I've been pretty stagnant in my weight loss for around 3 or so weeks.. i lost a bunch in the first month.. 476 at surgery day down to 425 or so .. pretty good but I've been sitting in between 425 and 417 for the last 3 weeks.. ive started eating.. but it's nothing like before ive completely taken out sodas from my diet and am probably less than half of the total intake I was before.. and I work out twice a week now.. but still the weight isnt going down.. I'm not freaking out.. but it's just got me kind of wondering what's going on..
  4. So ya. Thanksgiving.. man.. what a strange experience.. not going to lie.. I had some stuff today couple chips.. like 4-5 queso laden tortilla chips.. and 2 crackers with cheese pre dinner.. then.. for dinner even when I tried to take smaller portions of each item.. my plate was still full once I was done serving myself.. but.. to my surprise.. about a quarter way through the plate I started getting the uncomfortable feeling in my throat.. which tells me it's time to stop eating. so I did a few more bites.. gave the rest of one small piece of ham to the dog.. then that was that.. my stomach really does control my eating.. which.. not surprises me.. but makes me feel relieved.. because even when I tried to do small portions it was still a ton of food.. and my stomach wouldn't let me overdo it.. was a very strange in a good way experience.. I still did overeat today but nowhere near as much as I could have..
  5. Just weighed myself after 2 weeks of not.. averaged 6 lbs per week.. not bad.. its been a month since surgery. 10/22 Hw:497 Sw:476 Cw:431
  6. Was 443 at the last weigh in two weeks ago.
  7. First post op appt I was down 23 lbs.. which was 3 weeks ago this thursday.. the next week I was down another 8. That was two weeks ago tomorrow.. my next appt is December 4th so well see where I'm at then.. hoping for something around 420.. well see.
  8. The only thing I stopped taking was my blood pressure med and that was only on the day of surgery.. was instructed by the drs team. But ya.. ask your surgeon, but for me I didnt have to stop any of my meds. Happy note.. yesterday I found out the light headedness I was feeling in the last week or two was caused by my being overly medicated.. so in one month my blood pressure medication.. one has been completely removed and the other is now half of the strength I was taking before.. pretty cool.. and I had my surgery on 10/22.
  9. Happy news.. I finally did get something out today.. it wasnt much but I'm glad I got something out
  10. Starting to get a little worried about my bowels.. I had surgery two weeks ago today.. and I haven't gone no. 2 since I think two days before the operation. I take a stool softener daily but still nothing.. anyone deal with it taking this long to use the bathroom?
  11. What did your dietician suggest? I'd follow that.
  12. I'm not much further on than you.. I had my surgery on the 22nd.. my stomach seems to have a mind of own.. sometimes I'll be literally so hungry I cant stand it and sometimes I just feel fairly ok.. just follow what the dietician suggested to the best you can and remember you just had major surgery and your bodies going to take time to heal.. it's not easy but it's not impossible.
  13. I use centrum silver heh.. bought them at the grocery store..
  14. I think 6 months pre op wait is the norm.. at least in my state of Maryland it is.. and time passes.. shrug.. dont worry.
  15. No.. but I seem to be able to work through the cravings better than I could before.. I know that I cant do it so even when I see the burger ads on tv while it looks pretty dang good.. at least so far I haven't found it necessary to act on it.
  16. I haven't hidden it. Everyone in my family knows.. but it's honestly because I rely on them for support heh.. I've been very lucky with that bit.. my family is very supportive.
  17. I remember waking up in the recovery room.. dont remember what the room looked like or what/who was in it.. just I remember bs'ing with the nurse and finding out she owned and rode a horse Haha which I then shared with my family once I made it back to my room and my parents and the nurse had a fairly lengthy conversation about horses.. was pretty interesting.
  18. Ya.. I had like 5 grapes last night and omg they tasted so overly sweet.. it was crazy..
  19. Were surgery twins.. mine was on Monday the 22nd as well. Hmm unlike what you've been experiencing I've been hungry as hell for the last few days.. its tolerable with my protein shakes and water.. but ya. No no. 2 for me either.. and I've been taking stool softeners as well.. no real pain to speak of besides the hunger..
  20. I'm a week and a half post op.
  21. Wow.. that's pretty heavy.. hrmm.. two things.. one.. and probably the biggest.. not sure your current weight but at mine.. the odds are I wouldn't live another 10 years at the weight I was.. and second my surgeon informed me the surgery.. while major isnt open.. in almost all situations.. its laprascopic.. and it's as severe as a gall bladder removal surgery.. which is pretty benign.. so ya. That gave me some confidence. The biggest thing though was the first one.. the facts say people of my weight don't make it to 60.. so being 44 I needed to do something if I wanted to live.. which I do :-) best of luck to you.
