July Butterfly NSV's!
I was a 26/28 top and a 24 bottom, I now wear 20/18 bottom and 22 tops. My closet is empty, my cloths dont fit. I gave them to Goodwill. I'm a school bus driver, I no longer zig-zag down the bus asile. I can actualy walk stright down the asile and dont bounce between the seats. And my belly doesnt touch the steering wheel. I have more energy! OMG! I sleep better, I sleep like the dead! I dont snore anymore and my back no longer hurts in the morning. And the best NSV, my dd hugs me and tells me "Mommy, I can wrap my arms around you when I hug you." Thats the best one of all. Tina

how long
I just had my first fill today. My dr told me to wait 6 weeks. My first fill is free, due to my insurance, technically I cant have a fill untill three months after the day of my surgery. Just something to look into. Good luck.

Weight Watchers
I'm so feeling it also. I never got to my 10%, I never got a pin, a key chain or any thing else but boy did they get my money! If I had just taken that money and got my surgery I would be a very happy camper. And I dont know about anyone else but every time I went there (which was alot) they were always bashing wls. They went on and on about doing it on your own and of course there is always someone who knew someone who almost died. I'd like to see them now! Tina

eating regular food...
I am no longer on mushies, Yea! What I would like to know is do you introduce a "new" food one at a time? Or did you just dig in? I dont what to send my system into over load. I've been on proteins only since surgery. That includes my mushies, they were protein only mushies.

10 LB Nightmare
I was given a 1500 calorie diet to follow. It was one protien, two carbs and one fat in the am. For lunch a large amount of none starchy veggies, one protein, and three carbs and a fat. Dinner was the same as lunch. They gave me a list of what was carbs, protein and fats with the amounts. I lost 14lbs in two weeks, and I cheated a few times :smile2:!

Disney World and the meal plan....
I throwing this here because I'm not sure were to post it. I was banded in July. We are planning a Disney vacation in May of 09. Is the meal plan worth the money after being banded? I will be going with my husband and 9 year old daughter. We plan to stay at Disney. We are not renting a car. I dont plan on leaving the World for 6 or 7 days. Also, I'm not sure if I could buy a meal plan for two and nibble off the plates. I was told if three go you have to buy a meal plan for three. (That was from a friend) Any help would be greatful. Blech, "support" group.
When I started my journey I was also required to go to 2 support meetings. I did my time and then saw the Dr. He asked me what I thought of the meetings and if I got anything out of it. I told him it was a waste of time for me because it was all about bypass. The speakers were bybass, the leader of the meeting was bypass, there was one bander there at one meeting that I got to talk to after the entire disscussion of bypass. (those people dont let up when they have questions) At my first appointment after surgery I had to fill out a questionair, I found out that in the 4 months since my support meetings they now have a support meeting just for lap band. I think enough people complained. It doesnt hurt to suggest it to the dr. Good luck.

How's the wardrobe?
I wish I could go shopping. I've lost almost 35#, but my pants only feel loose, Not to big that I have to hold them up. Some shirts are big but I can still wear them. I happen to be a person that has to lose 50# before anyone notices or I notice. I cant wait to do some shopping. Congrats! and have fun! Tina

Does anyone know how much sugar is OK...
I know that we are to stay away from sugar. Obviously there is natural sugar in fruits. That must be better then refined sugar but I would like to know what is an OK amount. 10g, 15g. What is the daily amount that you stick to or limit yourself too? Thank you

Long Term Follow Up?
When I meet the nurse in my primary care drs office and told her that I wanted the band, she told me to do it and dont look back. She had it done 6 years ago. She was one of the first in my state (this is according to her). She is slim, eats when she wants and when she wants. She does not eat three meals a day, she picks threw out the day. She weighs herself every day and as long as she stays at her happy weight she doesnt worry about it. I asked her if there was anything she cant eat and she told me beef. Thats it. She can have bread now but couldnt the first few years out, its has to be toasted very well. She is very happy and told me she would do again in a heart beat. Hope this helps.
