jc14bar got a reaction from Liz The New Me in *** September 2018 Sleevers ***Update,
I had my surgery on 9/27/2018 at 1:00pm. Started in May at 375. Surgery weight 315. Today's weight 265.
Its been an interesting few months. From the two weeks on clear liquid to the last month learning how to eat. I say learning because that is what I'm doing. I found out the hard way that one extra bite of cauliflower mash is what will make me sick. Learned that salmon is really good at filling me up and not making me sick.
Read a post earlier about how the brain and the body are fighting each other. I have had alot of that. I also noticed how many food ads are on t.v.
Need to work out more, but now that I'm back to normal work, the body is just too tired.
If anyone wants to chat with me, ask questions, or any reason at all, feel free to message me.

jc14bar got a reaction from Liz The New Me in *** September 2018 Sleevers ***1 Week today.... well not till 4:00pm today, but close enough....
down 15lbs in the week. yesterday was the 1st day that I felt almost normal. I have been taking my protein, and my fluids, the gas pain has pretty much left, but hey moving along.
Sitting here drinking my Isopure, getting ready to start my 2nd week of clear fluids. What I wouldn't do for a bowl of tomato soup.
Hope all the other September losers are having a good go at it.

jc14bar got a reaction from jgirlnyc in Not doing great in pre-op dietMy last week or pre-op has been normal food, just under 1000 cal per day. I have been pretty good, but not perfect. If perfection was the only way to go forward with this lifestyle change, I don't think many people would be able to do it. I have my surgery tomorrow, and am on clear fluid all day today. That is not an option.
Get back on track and be good moving forward.

You and I had our surgery on the same day. I was out yesterday night. Still kinda weak, but moving along. I took several of the narcotic to help me sleep last night. Did my 1st walk this morning with no major discomfort. Just wish this gas issue would go away.

You are only one month out from surgery. You will lose weight if you follow the program, do not let the scale dictate your mood or how you feel.
If you cannot differentiate between a temporary gain and an actual gain then take a break from the scale.
There will be times when you stall out, it is just part of the journey. I lost no weight almost the whole month of July, I understand how demoralizing it is, we all do.
I know some people are huge advocates of drinking tons of water, but do your best. I’ve lost almost 150 pounds drinking what I can, some days 64 oz some days more. Some of us just can’t drink as much, just drink what you comfortably can.
Through it all, stay positive! I know for an absolute fact if you stick to your program in six months you will not believe the changes you see and feel!

jc14bar reacted to allwet in Losing too fast?I lost weight very fast, 49 pounds first month and a steady 8-10 pounds every month after till i hit 160 then my body just slowed the weight loss way down and i am working towards increasing calories to reach maintenance calories.
Don't worry you will eat more as you get further out and your body will settle in to a good weight with time.
If your labs are good and your doctor is not saying anything don't worry and enjoy.
some of your fear is you have never been here before and it all feels like too much but you will get used to new image and it will feel and look normal with time. Body image can mess with your perception of what is too much so use your doctor and there staff to judge that not your own self image till you have time to get used to the new you.

jc14bar reacted to Irene H. in So excited! My surgery is tomorrow at 0600 hours. My sister asked me if I’m nervous, and I can honestly say I’m only excited and happy. I feel such relief! I went on my first diet at 10, so it’s been 30 years of one diet after another. I finally get to be done with that. I know surgery is not a magic bullet, that I have to make good choices, but now I’m hopeful that when I do the right things, I’ll get results. I can’t wait!

jc14bar got a reaction from Oct517 in Anyone scaredI'm 13 days from having my surgery. I can't say i'm not scared, but I am very nervous. I'm worried about missing out on the things I enjoy in life. Beer, parties, being social and going out. I'm sure with time those will go away, but right now, 13 days out.... I'm nervous.
