  5. I am 4 days post op and 8 days before surgery on Monday through Friday I had 2 protein shakes, one for breakfast and one for lunch with a sensible dinner. Saturday and Sunday I did an Isagenix cleanse for life diet and Monday I did an all liquid diet. My surgery was on a Tuesday and it was a success! If you don’t have a cleanse diet I would just do a 3 day liquid diet before surgery. My surgeon was actually at an awards dinner that I sang for less than 2 weeks before my surgery. That evening I had the opportunity to talk with him and tell him about my concern with the liquid diet. Obviously, I was struggling because I attend many events. His response to me was to just eat light. He said that it does make the surgery easier if you follow a liquid diet but in my case where I had another event to sing for that Friday, 4 days before my surgery, it was very difficult. This is why I committed to a liquid diet 3 days prior. Side note: my sister had the sleeve surgery as well in May and said she went all in on food up until the day before surgery (she’s crazy lol). Her surgery was fine as well.
  6. Thanks @browneyes42 the last thing I need is to pass out because I’m malnourished. I’ll try to drink more often. Maybe even set reminders on my phone throughout the day to help ?

  8. I felt the same as if I had allergies. I think it’s a combo of the anesthesia and the tube they place down your esophagus. It’s a terrible feeling. My nose was so stuffy that after blowing it I had a nosebleed.
  9. Maybe it’s a little too early but I am concerned about how much water I drink per day. If I drink more than 8 ounces that’s a lot. I do take sips of broth three times a day which is about 1/4 cup each. I can’t even eat Jell-O because it does not agree with me. I try to drink a little bit of a protein shake last night and I had to drink that very slowly. What’s going to happen when it’s time for me to have cream soups? I’m not hungry at all. Is this normal?

  12. I only told a few close coworkers who seem to genuinely care. Every one else will have to figure it out. My concern was the judgment and opinions. I didn’t need anyone criticizing and try to talk me out of something I’ve spent 4 months of doctors appointments and insurance approval to do!

  17. I Just had surgery 10/2. It’s painful but I’m recovering. Also not very hungry. I just made myself eat a spoonful of sugar free Jello and my stomach was like NOPE!
