  1. Yes, I had a ERD, which included an upper GI. The doctor found ulcers in my esophagus and stomach, and had to postpone my gastric sleeve surgery. I have to wait until the ulcers heal before I can have the surgery.
  2. I haven’t had a food funeral yet, but I’m having those food shaking their curvy body cravings. It’s the, “I know you want me. Come and get it big boy!”
  3. I just started my preop diet. I’m struggling with being so hungry. If I feel this way on the first day, I can imagine how I feel at the end of the preop?
  4. Thanks for the advice. This weekend is the last time I will enjoy three solid meals and snacks I like.
  5. Congratulations! My date is the 29th. I start my liquid diet on this coming Tuesday.

  11. For me, it was a combination of choosing a weight at my current stage of life and my doctor helped me choose. The doctor recommended that my ideal finished weight should be 200 pounds. Any more than that would be crazy!
  12. I’ve been told that foods like rice and potatoes aren’t good for you. My dietary counselor was telling me that I should keep away from them. She offered things like zucchini noodles and cauliflower “rice”. How do you feel about them?
  13. I’m 59, and have started my pre-op phase. The one thing I need to get motivated about is exercise. I have it listed as something I should do, but I just can’t get started. Any suggestions?
  14. Hello! I’m new to the site, and I’m just want to hear about everyone’s experiences during each step of the process. I’ getting the gastric sleeve. I haven’t gotten my date yet, but I’ve seen the dietitian and the social worker. I’ve made my appointment with the psychologist to mentally prepare me for what’s to come. I’m thinking my operation will be close to Thanksgiving. I hope to hear some encouraging words from the group.
