  1. Frustr8, I hear you. I was starting to regret this whole process, I’m praying this procedure will resolve my issue without further complications. I hope things go well for you too. I’ll keep you posted.
  2. I was sleeved in. August and still not able to eat anything but liquid. Surgeon going to scope me with a ballon to widen my sleeve at the narrow spot. Anyone have this done? If so did it resolve the issue. It appears from Upper GI that scar tissue has built up in that location in the sleeve.
  3. Have you considered packing your own food to take to the Family functions or talking to Family members who are hosting the event maybe they can prepare something specific for you. I know it’s hard . I am a month post op and my family eats whatever they want in front of me, even have me place their takeout orders but I remind myself I did this for my health and now they are jealous im down 50 pounds. So pick yourself up have faith you did the right thing for you. Take care
  4. Does anyone know if you can chew sugar free gum during recovery.? If not now how far out or is it out for good?
  5. Hi I had my surgery on the 22nd too. I was doing pretty good until I switched to purée and bland foods. Nauseous every am so stoped eating and went back on liquids until my second follow up on 9/11. I have heard that the vitamin patches can cause some people to have bad headaches. I was going to ask my dr. About it when I go in. I take liquid vitamin taste needs something to be desired but I guess it’s better than a headache. Good luck.
  6. Anyone post op having a hard time finding satisfying soft food to eat. I think my taste buds are dead. Nothing tastes like anything to me and I’m a daughter of a great professional chef. I have head people say your taste buds change after surgery but I didn’t expect to not want to eat anything.
  7. Prayer is always welcome in any situation.
  8. Hi I’m not 40 but turned 60 this past June and had surgery August 22 and would have done it 15 years ago but had aging parents to take care off and put self on the back burner. Anyway i came through surgery pretty good. Recovery is going tough trying to get all the liquids down with no appetite. Still glade I did it.
  9. Monday 8/13/18 Starting my last week of pre-op diet then two days of liquid diet then surgery day will be here. I decide to get on the scale this morning when I said I would not until day of surgery but I did and I’m down 19 pounds. The beginning of the diet I was fine but come the weekend I was about ready to throw in the towel then I read some folks post and it had kept me going. Thanks have a great week.
  10. I have 10days to go and I’m feeling tired and craving food but keep going. You’ll and everyone else on Monday do well.

  12. Hi my surgery date is Aug.22 10 days away.
  13. Today I had my pre/op work done. Only one possible issue is my blood pressure was higher than they wanted. I need to work hard on getting it down if I can’t my surgery could get canceled. Set appointment with my primary dr. on Thursday maybe she can up my no dose . I can only try to get it down. Any suggestion?
  14. Thanks so much for the support. I don’t have much family support I have a twin sister who is dead set against me and wants to bring up every negative thing she has heard about the surgery. But I do have a supportive daughter in California who might come home to be with me on that day.
