I'm on day 3 of my 2 week preop diet. The slightest smell of food is making me want to back out of surgery. I'm on 3-4 protein shakes and 3ozs of lean meat and a serving of veggies per day. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass on December 19th. I really need this surgery, but I'M STARVING! Any suggestions on how I can curb or ignore the hunger pains? I finally got a surgery date. My onoybissue is its December 19th. I have three kids (8,7, &5). Did anyone have issues moving around alot after surgery? I dont want to be stuck on the couch while my kids enjoy Christmas. I wanna be involved with them. Dont get me wrong I love finally having a date, just wish it was maybe a week earlier. I'm getting more nervous as I near the end of the preop requirements. I'm done with everything my insurance requires to get a surgery date. I have my final consultation appointment on October 1st. No it's not that. It's that my psychiatrist has never done one so she asked me to get a list of questions from my surgeon that would fit the criteria. I've been cleared by a different psychiatrist a year ago, but due to issues with my sister's health I cancelled that surgery. I just didn't want to have to go back to the other psychiatrist. Does anyone have a sample of some of the questions that need to be answered during a psych eval? My therapist wants to make sure she helps me get approved. She just doesn't want to miss anything and mess up my chances. My surgeon is out of town for two weeks or I'd ask him. Just a few examples of questions that need to be answered. Thanks in advance!!! I went through a few visits with them and hated the way I was treated. I'm currently going through UAB in Birmingham AL. I LOVE it there. I'd recommend them to anyone.
