  1. HI- I had surgery a few months ago and recently joined a boot-camp exercise class. The instructor gave the class a goal of trying to eat your weight in protein grams per day. So, currently I am around 200, which would mean I would need to aim for 200 grams of protein a day. It seems extreme. The other nutrition question I have surrounds fruit. I try to eat an apple a couple of times a week, but they are high in carbs. Is this OK or should I try a different fruit?
  2. I am using Baritastic, and you are all right. I need to get more consistent with this logging of my food intake.
  3. Thank you all. Tracking again and will try to reduce soda. I appreciate all the support!
  4. How many calories are you eating these days? I think I am usually around 1000-1200. I will try to get off it. I know it is no good for me. I have been trying to track food as well. That also fell off, so tracking should help identify some issues. Thanks.
  5. Hi- I had my sleeve in July 2018. I lost 40 pounds within 3 months and then have been stalled for a while. I started drinking diet soda again around that time. I am exercising and I do not think I am eating too much. Could the stall be linked to diet soda? I started at 240, I am now at 200. I am 5 feet 7, so I am trying to get to at least 180. Any thoughts?
  6. Wow, I hope you get the answer you are seeking. I also hope this is not me. I too feel at times like it makes no sense that I am not breaking the stall. I am now trying to slam water and be more mindful of what I am eating, but I don't think I am eating too much either. I think I am always below 1000 calories a day. Good luck!
  7. No, its the body adjusting. I had the same thing. My stall really started around 3 + month, but this is also when Halloween. Thanksgiving, the holidays kicked in, so I am re-committing to the basics and seeing if that does it. You will be fine. So will I.
  8. I was sleeved in July and I also feel like I have been in a stall for the last 2 months. I am trying to up my water intake, reduce my diet soda intake, and increase exercise. I know we will get through it, But it is hard. I have my 6 month check in tomorrow, and I have barely lost any weight since my 3 month. Not looking forward to it.
  9. Glen- I hope you are right. I am trying not to get discouraged. Had a bad week a few weeks ago, and the scale went up, so I got back on the program. I feel much better and don't ever want to go back, so that helps keep me motivated as well., Best wished to you and yours this holiday season. Thanks for the support.
  10. I feel like I get stuck in stalls for weeks and I do not think I am eating too much. I started at 240, had surgery in early July, and for the last 6 weeks I have only lost 4 pounds. I am at 201 now. I was hoping to be at 185 by now. Any tips? I gave up bread, I am exercising, and lifting 3-4 days a week. I also think I am keeping calories under 1000 a day. Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays.

Thanks. I have a scale that has fat % and it is going down a little, but to be honest, I have not been so focused on that. I will pay more attention to this. I do notice that I can run more and my strength is coming back in the gym, so that is encouraging. I will try to get into the m-Fri weigh in. You are probably right that better monitoring can help figure out what differences may have caused the increase in weight.

Thanks. It is just frustrating, but I would not have been able to lose this weight without it.
  13. Hi-Starting week 8. For the most part, very happy. Down about 30 pounds, hoping for 50 by 3 month check in. I keep having little gains and then loses. Is this normal? I am also notice if I indulge in even a few nuts, the scale goes up. Not fun and something I need to cut out. Any thoughts?
  14. Thank you all for your help!
  15. Hi- Going on four weeks, but had an issue this weekend. I am rarely hungry, but was surrounded by food this weekend that was bad and found myself eating things I should not have, i.e.- pop tart, pretzels. I am a little worried. When I have a routine, I am good. But when I don't, I am a little worried. Any tips on getting over the mental component? I am making good progress and I do not want to derail it. Any tips appreciated.
  16. I just had the procedure a few weeks ago and I am already down about 20 lbs. I tell people I have been dieting for some time, which is the truth and it is just starting to show. I also tell them I gave up bread, and that usually gives them the answer they want. Good luck.
