Life without huge bowls of rice a roni?
now that i am scheduled :clap2: ((hold your applause please)):ohwell: each day, each meal, i contemplate the bands effect of limiting my portions. i am certain that i can comply with the band rules of meal engagement. however... i am absolutely terrified of the idea of not being able to just stuff myself with rice-a-roni. my logic tells me that i will be fine with limited amounts of the san francisco treat, but my stomach's alter ego is in denial. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY MANY OF YOU TO NOT RULE OUT ANY food PREMATURELY...BUT NOW I HAVE STARTED THINKING IN TERMS OF... HOW IN THE HELL CAN I NOT EAT THE WHOLE DAMN BASKET OF chips AND SALSA...ETC... DOES ANYONE FEEL MY PAIN!!!

The Dora the Explorer song
i wonder how many of these cartoon songs we have been singing incorrectly...makes me think of a few months back. at work, we turned the radio to a classic country station. a song was on, i think it is called, "i love a rainy night" well something about rain anyway. the song must have been out when i was 4 or 5 years old or something. well, it never really occurred to me, as i was singing along, that i was singing the words that my mind heard when i was 4 or 5 years old. so, on karaoke friday in the office, i busted out with a big- "windshield wipers slapping out a ten-four keeping perfect rhythm with the song on the radio-yo" hmmm...if you know the adult style lyrics, then you would have been singing it like this... "wind-shield wipers slapping out a TEMPO keeping perfect rhythm with the song on the radiooooooo..." lmao:pound:

The Dora the Explorer song
It has come to my attention that there are some mommies out there who may not know the most important lyrics to the Dora the Explorer song. I do not know ALL of the words, but I am thinking we can all put our heads together and come up with all of them. so here is my contribution.... and just so you know, in an effort to keep this discussion related to wls, i will be dancing as i sing this, for exercise, of course... We did it, We did it, We did it, HOORAY! Lo Hicimos! We did it, We did it! Hooray! :clap2:

Here are good pic re-size instructions...
hey kathy, lemme break it down for you sister! close the internet window down. this resizing has nothing to do with lbt being up on your screen. go to where the photo file is saved on your computer. double click, and it should open in a window. somewhere on that window there will be a little icon that has a pen on it. it may be camoflaged (sp?), when you drag the pointer over it, it should say "edit" when you find it, click it. you should get some editing options, and one should say "resize" click it. one of the options should allow you to do a resize that looks like "web small 480x800" (these numbers might be off a little or a lot, i do not remember what they were). experiment with the different sizes to find the size you like. you might have to click a button to apply the change...i have to click a button that says "ok"--my pics open with microsoft photo manager. when you finish, go to file, click save as, i made a new folder and called it "resized pics" and then give the photo a new name(i just added an "r" to each photo name), and save it to the new folder. now when you upload, browse and find the photo in the new resized pics folder. hope this helps!!

Here are good pic re-size instructions...
Here is my re-sized pic of Hanna and here is my brand new Dooney and Bourke:dance: Thanks Donali for the instructions, I hope you don't mind me copy/pasting your words! :cheer2:"We did it, we did it, we did it, hooray! Lo Hicimos! We did it!" If you're using windows XP, here is what I do (this probably will work with any Windows program): Open up the .jpg file by double-clicking on it. My .jpg opens with the default program "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer". In the bottom righthand corner, there is a picture with a little pen - if you mouse over that, it should say "Closes this program and opens the image for editing (Ctrl+E)" Click on that little picture, or hold down the control button and then type the letter E. The image should now display in a window that has "Paint" as a part of the title. On the file menu, under "Image" click on "Attributes". Now you should see how high and how wide your picture is. You can choose your prefered measurement - I would use inches. If you change the size here, you risk deforming your picture, because this program does not automatically reduce the width to match the reduction in height. But now that you know how big the picture is, you know about how much you want to reduce it. For example, lets say the width is 10 inches, but you want to make it only 5 inches, and you want to keep the height proportionate with that change. Cancel out of the attributes window. On the file menu, under "Image" click on "Stretch/Skew" Under "Stretch" you see two boxes with 100% in them. Since you want your picture half the size it is now, put 50% in each box (height and width) and click "Okay". I would now save the picture under a different name, so that you don't permanently change the size of your original. I usually add the letters "sm" for "small" to the original title, so I know it's the same pic, only smaller.

I Need Advice for Pre-Op Diet
Thanks everyone, that really helps. The lady at the doc's office did not really give me strict instructions, just low fat/low carb from now until the surgery. She said if I stick to chicken, fish, and veggies, I can't go wrong. She told my I was worrying myself too much, if the doc did not give me specific instructions, then I would be fine. I do remember the doc telling me that my abdomen was very small. Maybe this is an indicator that my liver doesn't need to do a lot of shrinking? Who knows? Thanks again for all of your help!!

I Need Advice for Pre-Op Diet
The lady gave me a list of veggies, and said I needed to go low fat/low carbs to prepare for the surgery. Problem is that she did not say when to start, nor did she tell me what low fat/low carb means to this doctor. I will definitly be calling the office to ask, but I am curious about any input ya'll can help me with. :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: I want to appreciate each large meal like it is the last, but I really need to know if this one really is the last.

My first skinny dream...
So last night my dream starts out with my trying to make arrangements for a babysitter. Don't really know why, but I can tell my friends are different, don't know why. So the dream progresses, we get rid of the kids. My friends leave the house. That is when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror(a dream mirror of course). I put on my new lingerie, my first real lingerie, that won't double for a fishing net.:kiss2: :shade:DH looks really happy...the rest is x-rated.

lap drs in houston area
hey roxanneroll, i met with dr. spivak friday. we scheduled the surgery for march 13...yippieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! mrycrltn...the self pay is 15K, and dr. spivak gave me an itemized list of what the 15k covers. (which is everything i can think of concerning the surgery) he did tell me that any pre-op testing would be at my cost, but that he would provide the list of required pre-op testing and i could take it to my pcp and the pcp could order the tests, and my insurance would cover it. luckily, i did not require any pre-op testing at all. good luck to you on your journey...
