  1. I’m at Speech Pathologist at a nursing facility so I’ve seen all kinds of different means of nutrition and problems eating/swallowing! Kind of funny experience having to be on puréed food and then soft for awhile....while working with my pts who I had to put on those exact diets. I did tell them I could sympathize with them for awhile! ??
  2. Glad you are back home! That’s a lot to go thru. I’m guessing the tpn is to get you actual nutrition and to help your stomach to heal? Hoping this fixes things for you! ?
  3. I was told no raw veggies until 3 months out ...that’s when I get to regular foods.
  4. I am so glad I did the esg! I was at the low end of the BMI range (31) for the procedure. Thought I would lose very slowly but that was not the case! I’m 9 weeks post op and have lost 33lbs. Last 4 weeks I’ve lost 3 or 4 lbs each week! You do need to follow your dr instructions exactly....protein and water are key.
  5. Thank you Frustr8! I’ve been very lucky that all has gone smoothly so far. Hoping you find some answers to your tummy troubles ? I’m sure they’ll figure it out soon and you’ll be on your way!!! Will be thinking about you ?
  6. Awww...I hate that things are going this way for you! ? Hope they figure this out with this next endoscopy. I would have lost my mind on liquids that long! Seems when it rains it storms huh? Hang in there (as I know you will!) and feel free to vent as needed here! Always seems to be some good supportive people around here to help out. ?
  7. All of you are so inspirational!! You’ve come such a long way and help me see that it is possible for me to make similar progress! Thanks ??
  8. 8 weeks out from my ESG and I’m down 30lbs!! From 204 to 174! Sooo glad I did this. 19 more lbs till I get to goal! Really didn’t think with all going on in my life (full time speech therapist/rehab director in a nursing home, own/operate pizza shop with my husband and babysit granddaughter a couple days a week..!) that I would manage to stick to the program so well. But I did! ?
  9. Amazing job!! You deserve some kind of medal for that achievement! ??
  10. 8 weeks out and down 30lbs! Kind of surprised how quickly this is happening! I do stick to the dr recommendations (with exception of exercise....still trying to make my life accommodate that). It’s bound to slow soon I guess. I’m at 174 with a goal of 155. Very happy with my decision ?
  11. I found that I don’t tolerate scrambled eggs well, but over easy or over medium are fine.
  12. Are there any protein bars which can be appropriate for the soft diet?
  13. I had ESG on 9/25. As of today I’m down 26lbs! My BMI starting out was just about 31 and is now 27. SW 204 CW 178. Very happy with my results so far and would like to get down to 155 if possible ?
  14. Does anyone know if penicillin is absorbed differently after gastric surgery? I’m on day 3 of antibiotics for strep throat and feel no better. Never had that happen before...
  15. So kind of reviving this forum...! ESG was 9/25 and I’m down 23 lbs!!! Kind of stalled for 2.5 weeks but this past week I lost 4 lbs. pretty thrilled!
  16. Thanks for the ideas! I still have a good bit of Norco left from surgery. Maybe one of those tonight and an ibuprofen and omeprazole tomorrow
  17. My esg was 9/25 and today I came down with strep throat. I got my antibiotics today but Tylenol doesn’t do alot for the pain or swelling. I know we shouldn’t take nsaids but ibuprofen was my go to for this. Any other ideas?
  18. I love kohl’s! Always good discounts!
  19. Completely normal! My esg was 9/25 and I lost 16 lb the first week. Since then I’ve only lost 3more lb. I need to add in exercise so I believe that would help. I started st alone BMI (31) and my surgeon said that is to be expected. Bummer but I’ll take it!
  20. These amazing cookies appeared at work courtesy of my boss......and I didn’t touch them! Major victory!!!??
  21. Thanks everyone! It’s weird ....I don’t really miss it, but now and then it smells so good! And it was quite a routine in the morning and on the way to work. I guess it’s been replaced by my daily protein shake, which is better for me anyhow!
  22. I took my pill maybe 20 min before the appt. not sure if it had kicked in yet....but regardless, 101/69 is too low either way! Lol. I feel so much better with out it. So far my BP is running normal since I stopped the meds last week!
