  1. Hi, I’m about 4 1/2 weeks post op and I still haven’t started taking my multivitamin. I’m only taking calcium and D3. I tried to take my multivitamin but I kept vomiting it right back up. It sucks bc I know I need to take it AND I had one that was once a day with iron so I didn’t have to take 8 different pills per day! Is there ANYTHING out there that’s a chewable one a day that meets our requirements and includes iron??? Thanks so much for any advice!
  2. Hi, I’m taking the bariatric multivitamin with iron (I’ll try to attach a pic). The first time I broke it open and dumped a little bit in my mouth with some water bc I wasn’t sure my stomach could handle the big pill or break down the capsule. I instantly vomited (first time since my surgery 4 weeks ago). Then today I took the whole pill hoping it would just break down. It didn’t hurt or get stuck, felt fine digestive wise, but within five minutes my mouth started watering and I vomited again. Ughhhh is there a chewable that has the same thing thisnone has? I don’t wanna take more than one pill a day so that’s why I bought this one. Thanks for any advice, I really appreciate it!
  3. I’m in the soft food stage now and I can barely eat 1/2 a cup of food at each sitting so it’s going to be hard for ppl not to notice maybe tell her that you haven’t been feeling good and you’ve lost your appetite and you have a dr appt soon? Otherwise, order soft green beans and mashed potatoes
  4. Why can’t you use bamboo shoots or watered chestnuts?
  5. Hi! I’ve been on soft foods for about a week and a half. I’m a SUPER picky eater so I keep eating the same things (eggs, yogurt, promier protein). I don’t want to gain weight by eating mashed potatoes every day. That sounds stupid, right? I’m only eating 4 bites of food, how could I gain weight? But I haven’t lost hardly any weight and this coming Tuesday I’ll be 4 weeks post op. Idk hat to do. Can I get some soft food suggestions? I was all excited bc in the binder my doc office gave me it said two weeks soft food and when I had my palsy op appt they said 8 weeks!!! I’m so sad so any soft food tips or ideas of soft foods would be great. Ok second question: does miralax not work for some people? I took it two days ago and barely pooped at all! Isn’t it supposed to make me poop a lot? Like get it all out? Thanks for any help or suggestions!!!!
  6. Yes, I literally drank fluids all day long! But I chugged a lot. I can’t do that anymore
  7. Thanks. I’m probably getting about 32oz total per day. I don’t feel dehydrated but I guess I wouldn’t know...
  8. Hi! I’m almost 3 week’s post op sleeve and I am worried about my fluid intake. I keep a big, cold 32oz tumbler of Gatorade zero, zero cal diet green tea, or water with me at ALL times. But I can only sip. I feel like I barely get any fluids! Between my protein shake and TRYING to eat, I feel like I can’t drink (can’t drink 30 min before or after eating or drinking protein). Since I drink my protein in 3 sittings, and try to eat 2-3 times a day, that’s 6 hours of the day I can’t drink (bc of the 30 min before and after rule). So I’m trying to sip but I feel like I’m not getting enough! Any tricks?! Also, I am not peeing hardly at all. MAYBE 3x a day and not a lot comes out. I see my surgeon wed but I thought I’d ask if anybody had any advice/ideas/tricks. Also..I’m only getting like 8 bites of food in per day. Is that normal? I’m also getting 30g protein and 160 cals from my promier protein drink. So I guess that’s better than nothing I guess. Thanks for any words of advice!
  9. what about a mild salsa?
  10. I was on liquid diet the day I got home. Applesauce, yogurt, broth. Everyone’s surgeon is different but yogurt seemed to be the best thing for me!
  11. What is this? I’ve never heard of it!
  12. Thanks everyone! I’ll make sure to stay away from pb for a while!
  13. Im officially on soft foods and barely ate today so I thought a tablespoon of peanut butter would fill me up and give me a tiny bit of protein. I’ve felt sick to my stomach ever since. Is peanut butter known to be a bad food for a sleeve? Thanks for any info!
  14. Thank you!!! I thought we all had the same vitamin regimen...do different doctors give diff amounts?
  15. Has anyone ever ordered the vitamin patches that bariatric pal sells? What were your thoughts? Is it around the same price as pills? Do we get absolutely everything we need? Thanks for any info!
  16. My doctor said no alcohol for 18 MONTHS! I never planned on following this bc I’ve researched and he’s the only one who has that long of a wait time. I do plan on waiting a few months tho. Since the sugar is part of the problem, I plan on drinking vodka and water and bring a sugar-free koolaid squeeze thing with me. It’s the lowest sugar drink you could have. Someone said vodka and soda but I thought carbonation was super bad for us...isn’t it?
  17. Fuzzy socks or slippers. The socks the hospital gave me were huge! I was so glad I brought my own!
  18. My doctor is VERY adamant that his patients have one. I explained that I didn’t want one and that it would keep me from getting the surgery. He said no problem, we won’t give you one. I think if you explain it to the doctor and he or she thinks they might lose a $40k surgery over it, they might let it slide. Just my opinion!
  19. Healing has been ok. The first three to four days was pure misery for me because of the Gas bubble they pumped inside of me during surgery. Other than that nothing really hurt at all. All my incisions are healing perfectly. I was really sick of the liquid diet afterwards so I start my soft foods diet five days early and I’ve been doing great. I was super hungry the first 10 days after surgery, but the past three days I could have not eaten once and never would have thought about it. I have zero appetite which is great! The diet before sucks but believe me, unlimited veggies and one lean mean a day is better than anybody else’s pre op diet I’ve ever heard of lol
  20. Thanks for the advice. I’m doing ok. Still not losing weight but I’m feeling a little better and started myself on soft foods. I’m eating tiny portions and chewing a lot and I haven’t had a single problem! I am pooping here and there. But not a lot. I’m hoping that when I go to the dr on wed I’ll have made some progress!!!
  21. You’re soooooo lucky to have a lean meal a day. I got nothing, only liquids. I took a pudding, applesauce, and yogurt (all in already packaged cups from the grocery store so I didn’t have to physically pack anything) to work everyday and drank lots of fluids to help me think I was full. Of course I was starving lol but I got through it.
  22. Im on liquids (phase 2) for two weeks then I move straight to soft foods. No purée phase. I start soft foods Tuesday but today I wanted to see if I could stomach some soft foods bc it was my kids’ bday party and I had Mexican catered and also bc I didn’t want ppl asking why I wasn’t pigging out like usual. I ate about 6-8 bites of refried beans, ground beef, salsa, and cheese. I felt GREAT! Not a single problem. Man did it feel good to eat normal food (well normal enough for now). I think introducing a bite here and there won’t hurt. I do think eating hard stuff and too much of it might hurt! Hope this helps!
  23. I did liquid diet TWO weeks prior. So FOUR weeks total. I just don’t understand
