  1. I am two weeks post op. Down 27 lbs. went back to work today. Work in an orthopedic office placing casts, splints and braces on patients. Gotta a little winded, arms are sore and was a little low on energy a couple times today. Had help and am glad I did!!! My surgeon said that soft, scrambled eggs, refried beans, smooth peanut butter and grits are fine on my plan now. I was one week clear liquids, one week full liquid and purée /soft foods. He said to start reprogramming my chewing mechanism. Question is what else would be appropriate during this time? I have no NUT so I am relying heavily on you all. I also asked him how I was eating 1/2 cup at a meal (eaten with 10 min) and able to sip water afterwards and he said he made my sleeve about the size of a plantain. He said not to worry so much on tablespoons and amounts but again to relearn my chewing mechanism.
  2. Premier protein/protein2O tastes awful. Probably gonna mix unflavored protein with Gatorade zero
  3. Protein2O flavored water is awful and am looking for some more protein other than the creamy protein shakes. TIA!!
  4. Have you tried the mio with water? G2? Gotta drink. If not you’ll have some issues. Headache, lethargy, etc...to begin with
  5. My doctor had me on hydrocodone/ibuprofen 7.5/200mg 1 po 4-6 hours. Ibuprofen is a NDAID. I’d ask your doctor
  6. They say the extremities are the first to go.
  7. Congratulations!! I had my sleeve sx on 8/22. I was sore for about 3-4 days post sx. I bought a body pillow which helped. When you are allowed to, WALK, WALK, WALK. Get that gas outta your body i bought the vitamins my surgeon had. $16 for a 30 day supply. You can also use flinstones with iron twice daily. In the hospital, I was in and out overnight. Left the following day late that morning. I didn’t bring anything. Should of brought my pillow from home. If I can answer any questions, just ask.
  8. Pain has subsided over last couple days. Thank you for thinking of me!!
  9. Spoke to doctor the other day. Said if it got bad to go to er. Otherwise pain meds, which I wasn’t taking that often. Feeling better today.
  10. Protein2O has 15g of protein per bottle
  11. No chewing. Smooth like a creamed soup Frustr8. Just gonna “water it down” with some more chicken broth. i ate to fast too. Gotta watch that....
  12. So I am 6 days post op on full liquid diet. Wife gave me egg drop soup with a little shredded chicken and veggie and it has been no biggie. She “surprised” me today for dinner with Chicken soup with shredded chicken and veggies from a Mexican restaurant that she pureed with a little rice. About 4 oz worth. holy Moses.....about 5-6 bites in, I got some pretty significant tightness in middle of chest. Stayed around for about 10 min. Like the kind when I first started the protein shakes. Fine now. Sipping on protein water. Told her next time let’s added some broth to it to thin it out even more.
  13. Curious if it’s worth it and if able to buy locally.
  14. I like Labrada chocolate drink. Also protein water for hydration
  15. I am five days post op and had 4oz of a Labrada protein shake with no issues. Just drinking more slowly than usual.
  16. Hey all— I am 5 days post op from sleeve surgery. I finally was able to sleep on both sides and slight stomach sleep last night. I wake up this morning to sharp pain on right side under rib cage with pain radiating to neck/shoulder of same side. Have a hard time taking a deep breath but can if done slowly. No nausea. Sipping Water so far today is fine. Started full liquid stage yesterday which included some protein drink, egg drop soup (sans the egg,) sugar free popsicles and since it was my birthday, a small container of sugar free jello pudding. Had no issues with any of that yesterday. Thoughts?
