I can't see gaining weight to qualify and not really knowing if for some other reason in the end you may not qualify. I would look for a different surgeon, they may have other ways to qualify you, such as hiatal Hermia or sleep apnea. Or self pay with a different surgeon at a lower cost.

I personally do not think you will have enough time. Depends how long it takes you to wake up and how long it takes them to release you. Mine went smooth and I woke up on the way back to recovery, I was up and out in no time. My husband drove me home and I slept the rest of the day. I understand why they say not to drive or make any decisions that day. I would not have wanted to have to go to another appointment that same day. Best wishes, hope it works out for you.

I work for the state and have Public Employee Insurance. They find ANYTHING they can not to pay for the surgery. With me they turned me down because I take thyroid medication. Lots if reasons they deny, if a person has ever taken an antidepressant is another reason they will deny the surgery. It worked out for the best, the surgeon I chose in Las Vegas charges $5500 all inclusive. I had sleeve and hiatal hernia repair done at the same time. They billed my insurance for the hernia repair and that's how the surgeon got paid. My out of pocket was $5500. He has his own surgery center and I had it done outpatient. I never had any symptoms of hiatal hernia but the surgeon said almost everyone that is overweight has one. Everything went well and Im grateful I found my surgeon.

I had that those issues also until two months post op. Check your blood pressure, it may be low. . My surgeon recommended iv therapy for fluid and vitamins. That really helped me.

Care.com suggestion by another poster is a great idea. You should be able to find someone on that websight that you can pay to provide the ride.

I struggled with this and first decided that I would tell only the people closest to me. Then I decided to just be honest and let everyone know. I didn't want any issues remembering how much I disclosed to each person. So that is what I chose. I told everyone I had made the decision to have sleeve surgery. I'm glad I made that decision as far as friends and family. But work situation is another story. I'm three months post sleeve and if I had to do it over I would not have told any coworkers. They don't understand what I'm going through anyways so letting them know did not benefit me in any way. Don't get me wrong, I have a good working relationship with all coworkers and get along with everyone. But people are insensitive and I've heard stupid comments like "you had the surgery and now your losing so fast, have you thought about now you will need to have skin removal surgery" and other comments about aren't I glad I decided to take the easy way out. They really don't have a clue and my workplace is not the place to set them straight or waste time on explaining my side. I would suggest letting family and friends know and keeping personal business out of the workplace.

I don't think mine I'd gherd. Its a tightness like they stitched me up too tight. Sounds silky I know. I had sleeve and hiatal hernia repair at same time. Sometimes I feel like a can't get a deep breathe. And then sometimes it seems the more I think about it the more often it happens. I'm so frustrated with it...I waa hoping it would pass since there's no painor other issues.will have to mention to doctor again

Ive been putting off going back to the doctor since I do not want to create a bunch of medical bills due to testing he will put me through. I have been hoping it will pass but has me worried. Mine also will happen at night and does not happen after eating. I am thinking I will have to tell the doctor when I go in for follow up. Thank you for response and I hope yours goes away!

I'm almost three months post op sleeve surgery. Ive been pretty lucky and have not had many issues but I do have this tightness feeling through rib cage area. At two weeks post op I saw my primary care doctor and told him about the tightness. He was not concerned and said my body will continue to change. The feeling is a tightness. Sometimes worse than others. Feels like i am unable to take in deep breaths. I had sleeve and gastric sleeve surgery. I don't have any pain. Wondering if anyone else has had this weird feeling. Thank you

I had sleeve surgery on May 2nd. First month was pure hell. No major issues but what a struggle each day was. Self inflicted restriction hit me hard. I kept asking myself everyday why I would have done this to myself..My whole life people tried to hurt me or take advantage. I had a hard time accepting that everything I was going through was self inflicted. I was angry at myself and everyone else also. I was really angry at people that were eating!! One day at a time, each day got better and I feel normal again. Still going through issues, like DRY hair and hair loss and extreme constipation. First. Who said that you have not made good progress?? Your expectations are too high. Your weight loss is amazing. Surgery is a tool. You are not going to lose 100 lbs overnight. Scale will go up and down. You will hit a stall and the scale doesn't move. Accept it and safe yourself the frustration. Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk

Just a suggestion for rings that are now loose or too big, rather than have them resized you can purchase ring guards. I bought some at Walmart. I'm going to use a ring guard until I feel my ring size is not going to change. Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk

Yes, I'm two months post op for sleeve. I started getting hot flashes!! I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago and never had hot flashes after that. But have them now!! Not sure why... Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk

I've had that pain twice in my life. Once from weight gain. Second time from stress. First time from added weight from pregnancy. Went away after I lost the preg weight gain. 2nd time I was very stressed. Work and home. Missed my parents, had not seen them in four years. They came to visit and I was very happy to see them. The pain disappeared the 2nd day of their stay. I would bet that you have an excellent chance of the pain going away after your weight loss. Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk

Don't feel too bad about the diarea, I also had it from the liquids. Everything ran right through. Then onto soft foods, constipation set in. Be prepared for that..its much better to.be flowing than stopped up. Sorry just the truth..body is going through so many changes..uggghh.. Sent from my Z970 using Tapatalk

I wouldn't try taking them all at once after surgery. You can before but after...not a good thing. Even one may make you nauseated or sick. I've always had an iron stomach and could take any kind of pill ect. But after surgery things are not the same. I've had to buy calcium citrate three times in two months trying to find one that I did not get nauseated from. Bought chewable from barriatric advantage and have to take three per day with food at different times of day. Finally found what works on third purchase. How many times per day do you have to take them? I thought I was doing great taking my all my vitamins and then I read the bottle of the barriatric vitamin I have and learned I'm suppose to be taking it three times per day.
