  1. Tomorrow is my final pre-op appointment. Surgery is on Nov 5th. So many thoughts going through my head. Yes, I want to be healthy. Yes, I want to be thin. But I enjoy my husbands cooking. Or going out to dinner. I love beer with my friends. What will my social life be in the future? No tequila shots on New Years. Celebrate with sugar free popsicles?? I got this but have to get myself ready for a changing lifestyle [emoji13] [emoji30] [emoji15]
  2. HI Friends! I am scheduled for Nov 5th. Let's do this together!
  3. Hello friends- I am scheduled for my sleeve on Nov 5. It is getting close now. I am excited/nervous/ready!
  4. Change of subject but how do I add a profile pic?
  5. That is what I am going to lean how to deal with. Accepting waste.
  6. Trying. Thank you
  7. Putting buy small plates on my to do list
  8. Great advice! Thank you! But what is a cheese bomb?
  9. Thanks for sharing the websites. Looks like interesting info.
  10. As I child I was raised to clean my plate and not to waste food (because there were starving kids in Africa...) As an adult, I have always felt it was a waste of my hard earned money to waste food. My surgery is November 5th. I don't think food that has been frozen tastes very good. Other than taking smaller portions, how have you changed your mindset about not having to clean your plate? Looking for tips or advice. Thank you!
  11. I want to be able to wear a dress without my thighs chafing
  12. I just got a voicemail notifying me of approval. Definitely feeling a little nervous. Hoping to get surgery scheduled for Oct 1.
  13. I just returned from a week long family vacation/reunion. It was interesting how much of our time was centered around food. Everyone trying to impress the others with their cooking. And if you don't eat a big plate of it, someone gets their feeling hurt. I don't want extended family members to know about my surgery. How do I prepare for future events?
  14. Me too Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I just received a phone call from a physical therapy office saying that my federal Blue Cross Insurance requires two visits per week for 3 weeks prior to surgery. I am out of town now so I'm not going to call my insurance until I get home. Does anyone know if this it true? It seems like they keep finding more and more prerequisites.
  16. I thought ten days of liquid diet sounded horrible. Why do you have to do 28?? If I had the will power and control to stop eating and stay on a liquid diet then I wouldn't think I would need surgery. I still don't know what I will have to do. My next appointment isn't until next week.
  17. I really hope I don't have to be on only liquids for two weeks. I don't think I could do it. It seems to me that a person that has the will power to only have liquids for two weeks wouldn't need weight loss surgery. I salute those that have done it!
  18. Thank you, my next appointment isn't for 3 weeks so I was curious to know.
  19. Hello- I am new so forgive me for any dumb questions. I read that some people had to go on liquid diet for two weeks prior to surgery. That wasn't mentioned to me... yet. Will I more than likely have to do that? That sounds really difficult.
