    hair Growth Shampoo

Hi, I've started with taking Biotin 10,000 chewable tablet since I was discharged. I've been faithful to my Mane N Tail shampoo and conditioner so I'm just sticking to those. I'm only on my Day 12 post-op, no dramatic hair loss yet but my surgeon told me the hair loss will be there. Go skinny and go bald lol..well not really bald. We'll see. :-)
  2. Hi gully90, My dietitian quoted "Anything that you can mash with your fork without trouble , you can have it". Like yours, my food doesn't need to be "out of the blender" either. Some of the items she suggested in my meal plan: Tofu, scrambled eggs, baked beans, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yam, steamed and baked fish, canned tuna and salmon, grounded beef and chicken in soup, hummus, guacamole, soft cheese etc etc. In short, real food!!! Hope this helps! I'm very new to this. Different surgeon will have different suggestions so don't kill the messenger. :-) Had my surgery on June 11. Best decision ever!

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. Thanks for reading. :-) I had my surgery in June 11th and I'm on my 6 day post-op today. I was already on full liquid diet on my day 3, as instructed by my dietitian. Clear liquid diet only during my 2 night stay at the hospital. As of writing, I had low fat sugar free yoghurt, sugar free vanilla ice cream, home made chicken Soup(strained), almond milk Jello, potato and beef soup (pureed) and Protein Shakes. I'm been adding new item to my diet each day. This really helps me not to feel frustrated with my liquid diet and tame my savoury cravings. I'll be having egg soup for lunch today ( thanks to my wonderful aunt) My 1st post op appointment with my surgeon and dietitian is on June 26. By then, my dietitian is hoping that I have started with scrambled eggs. Summary: Pain meds: Day 1 and Day 2 Glucose level pre-op: 9.5 Glucose level today: 6.4 Surgery weight: 244 Today weight: 224

Good luck and all the best!! I had my surgery on June 11. The journey starting pre-op has been wonderful. I wouldn't change it for anything else. This forum is awesome. Great place to be. :-)

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and had my surgery on June 11. My surgeon is Dr. Anton Cheng. I found this forum yesterday and can't wait to share my journey. I didn't do any pre-op diet, my surgeon didn't see it as necessary. I fasted 10hrs before surgery though (no food and drink). I was discharged from the hospital on June 13. I must say, I had to force myself sipping water or my surgeon wouldn't let me go home. I had tough time sipping liquids when I was at the hospital, the feeling was super uncomfortable. Ice chips was my best buddy and nurses were great in fulfilling my requests but surgeon said I must sip water haha. I was sore (the incisions) after the surgery and was on IV drip pain killer on the 1st day. I started walking slowly few hours after surgery ( as instructed by surgeon) and even had a normal shower the next morning (with nurse waiting on the other side of the shower curtain of course). I was on "fall prevention", I must be accompanied at all times if I'm m not in my bed. No painkillers anymore after Day 2, I was still sore especially on my left side but it was bearable. Home few days now and diligently looking into my diet ( well, my beloved aunt is doing all the work actually). I'm on my 6 day post op today. I was already on full liquid diet on my day 3, as instructed by my dietitian. She didn't want me to continue with clear liquid diet once discharged from hospital. I have been given sample meal plans and that makes it a little easier on my side. Day 3, I had low fat sugar free yoghurt, sugar free vanilla ice cream, home made chicken Soup(strained) and Protein Shakes. Day 4, I had chicken and mushroom soup for me and added some cream in it (strained it of course). Day 5, I had potato and beef soup. My aunt pureed it until it turned into a delicious thick soup ( like applesauce texture). I'm sticking to my yoghurt, Protein shakes and ice cream still but adding new item to my diet each day. This really helps me not to feel frustrated with my liquid diet. Plus, I'm a savoury person, I do not enjoy sweet things. My aunt has been a tremendous help in preparing my meals and my greatest support. Today, she is cooking chicken and egg soup and almond milk Jello for me. My 1st post op appointment with my surgeon and dietitian is on June 26. By then, my dietitian is hoping that I have started with scrambled eggs. Lastly, I'm not on any pain meds since discharged. I was borderline diabetic pre-op (no medication) and my glucose reading has been great since post op. I weighed 244 on surgery day and today, I weigh 224. :-)
