  1. I felt the same way. Nauseous and gagged at the slightest idea of drinking or eating a sugar free anything. I stopped taking the artificial sweeteners and started on the full liquids a day early and felt a million times better. Immediately I felt stronger, could consume a lot more water and just perked up in general. My meals now consist of milk based protein shakes for breakfast and dinner and bean or lentil soup in between. My body needed the salt. I make sure the soups are watered down and not over salted but that little bit of salt helped stabilize my body.
  2. Thanks Sophstar that makes a lot of sense.
  3. Thanks guys will put a call in today.
  4. I am 4 days post op and I have terrible pain in the middle of my rib cage. It comes in waves and only lasts a few seconds but it’s crippling.
  5. Me too. It makes me nauseous and I’ve had diarrhea all throughout my pre op and now at 3 days post op I still have it. Just the thought of it makes me want to gag. I can’t do the sf jello or the ice pops or anything else that is artificially sweetened.
  6. I found the Isopure Zero Carb drinks to be disgusting. Just the thought of them makes me want to gag. If anyone here likes them, I’m happy to send them to you. I think I have a problem with the artificial sweeteners. Even the SF ice pops make me gag. I’m struggling to get my water and protein in.
  7. Congrats! Please keep us updated.
  8. Hi All, I got conflicting information about taking my vitamins in the pre op phase so I stopped all supplements including the multi vitamin. Now I feel like I’m coming down with a cold and wanted to give myself a boost with some Vitamin C. My surgery is on Friday. Is this allowed?
  9. June 1st here. I’m excited but worried it won’t work for me.
  10. I did for another surgery. My hubby came to get me when I was discharged but I took an Uber to get there.
  11. I would let it go. I think in her job she’s seen people a whole lot bigger than you and that was her way of saying you’re not that bad off. Just keep positive thoughts in your mind and don’t let anything negative get in the way of the amazing life changing experience you’re going through.
  12. Congrats! Hope you continue to do well.
  13. I’m on June 1st. I’m on day 7 of my 10 day pre op diet. I struggled a bit in the beginning but I’m doing a whole lot better now. I have never been a chocolate milk or milkshake fan but I found that I am able to tolerate the chocolate shake more than the vanilla shake which makes me want to gag. My nutritionist asked me to do the Isopure drinks for phase 1 post surgery. Have you tried those?
  14. The drink is tolerable. Be sure to take a stool softener though.
  15. Talk to your surgeon to see if they will proceed with the surgery. Good luck. It’s a tough decision to make.
  16. Thanks guys. I was pretty worried. I wish you all success.
  17. Thanks Bryn910. I plan on being on track until my surgery on Friday. Just feel awful that I had solid food.
  18. Thanks Kimbero. Hope all goes well on Tuesday.
  19. I am on day 6 of a 10 day pre op liquid diet. Today I had to travel and forgot to carry my protein powder for lunch and dinner with me. I ended up having about 3-4oz of lean chicken breast with about a cup of copped veggies for dinner. I also had about a cup of wonton soup broth only. How much damage did I do in the grand scheme of shrinking my liver?
