  1. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you're able, PG.
  2. Wonderful, Butterfly!!! You must be very excited!
  3. Congratulations x 2!!!!
  4. Arrrgh...I went through the same thing with my cardiologist, MsT. Finally, I decided that I'd waited and been nice long enough and called them every 90 minutes one day. "Hi...was just calling to see if you sent that yet." "Would you like me to run down there and pick it up?" Frustrating. And from a cardio office? They know surgeries are waiting on them.
  5. PCP is Primary Care Physician Keep us posted on how you're doing
  6. Good luck to you, GB! Keep us posted.
  7. I'm on the 30th, too! It's coming right up!
  8. Welcome Jeep! I hope all of your pre-op appointments go well for you!
  9. Woooo! Exciting!!!
  10. Congratulations, Bama! I'm excited for you!
  11. Good for you! My suggestion for getting started on the liquid diet is that you do it gradually. Start replacing one of your meals for liquid now. Next week, replace two meals. By May 5, you'll be ready to go full liquids. Best of luck to you!
  12. Have you chosen a surgeon? If not, you might want to start with your PCP -- get recommendations there and make sure s/he is on board. There is also a forum here for doctor recommendations -- worth a read. You can work on getting your documentation together. I had to document all of my weight loss attempts. It was a virtual who's who of diets! Best of luck to you!
  13. Good for you, Mary! You live in one of my favorite cities! I've always said that LV is like going camping....except you don't have to go outside :tt2:
  14. Wooooo...good for you :tt2: Keep us posted, ok?
  15. Woooo..congratulations! Glad that (most) everything went well for you! You're on full liquids on the same day as your surgery? I'm still amazed at how much post-surgical diets vary! I hope you continue to heal well!
  16. Did you address with your surgeon? I don't know much about the different bands. I know that at my initial seminar, they told us that the doctor chooses the band appropriate for each person.
  17. After five years, there is likely no way to show the the band or associated tubing/port were defective at the time of the initial placement. While WLS may not be covered under your current plan, this is not WLS. This is surgery to correct a problem that is causing you pain and possible internal injury. Are you sure your insurance won't cover it once they know the details? Good luck to you.
  18. I saw this (and the other) thread and thought exactly the same thing, Ceradad. This is a person looking for self-promotion of some sort. I am not sure why there is a lack of courage for him to just come out and say, "I'm thinking of writing a book and looking for people to interview." Unless it's because the book will have a negative slant, hm?
  19. I'm sure most practices would refer out for individual counseling. My surgeon's office has support groups twice / week. Two group sessions are required before surgery.
  20. Now that's a lot of fiery nuns!!
  21. Exciting!!! 8 days for me!
  22. An exciting day for you, Emily! Keep us posted!
  23. Welcome, Tracey. Sounds like you're doing great!
  24. Great advice, IndigoGirl. I have been known to go one step further and cover whatever I don't want to have with liquid soap before tossing it in the trash. All gone!
