  2. I’m going to turn 61 weeks after my surgery. How has it been for you?

  4. Oh I hear you on the NSAIDS too, another thing I’m worried about! I am both excited and nervous ? but I think that is pretty normal. You said mid September is that your surgery or have you had it yet?
  5. I’m still pre op, another week until surgery but I know once menopause hit, losing weight was just so much harder so I’m anticipating the same post op?
  6. Mine required a 2 week 1200 Calorie Diet, and fast after midnight before the surgery, said they find that adequate. I was happy to eat real food as I know I won’t have it for awhile post op.

  8. I think over a certain age we have different challenges with WLS then the youngsters! I think slower weight loss and health concerns are a couple. Just because we’re older doesn’t mean we’re old! Us boomers rock! ?
  9. When I met my surgeon I asked him if there as different risks or more complications in people my age and he said “your only 60”. I liked him right away! ?

  13. Do these have calcium as well? I looked them up but didn’t see calcium? From what I have been told we have to separate iron and calcium.......Did your nutritionist ok these.....I love the one pill idea!

  16. Thank you all for your advice! We do have good hospitals here at home but none that deal with bariatric patients so they might not be as familiar with any complications that arise?

  18. Hello all, I have a 4 hr drive to the hospital where I will be having my surgery. My surgeon likes his patients to stay in the area at least a week post op in case of complications. Although I do think it’s a good idea, I would really rather be in my own home/bed while recouping. Hotels are on summer rates and will be really expensive to stay there......anyone else have to travel?

  21. Wow 3 years . Thats a bit of wait for sure. Oh how I wish I had more patience. I will be tapping my foot until my surgery date July 24 and started the process in Feb. Fingers crossed you get your July date!
  22. I will be having mine in Vancouver as well, covered by our provincial healthcare it’s been a long wait, 3 years......but now it’s just around the corner........
