  1. And they do have a program in Alberta that is covered as well.
  2. I’m from BC and Provincial Medical covered all expenses for WLS. You have to meet their requirements and go through the program. There are only 2 Surgeons in BC that do either sleeve or RNY so waits are long to get into the program. I was on a wait list for over 2 years and took 6 months to go through the program so almost 3 years from start to finish. Self pay was not an option here.
  3. I am so sorry your still going through this?. Maybe a trip to emergency is in order to get things moving towards a solution..........not fair that you are still suffering so. Praying for you ?
  4. I asked at the 3 month mark if I could go back to caffeine and was told as long as I was getting enough water in it was ok to do so.
  5. Great news on the Labs! My 6 month labs are coming up in January and hoping for the same! Why is Bariatric Pal changing from Patch MD? I order mine thru Patch MD website, they frequently have BOGO sales!
  6. Frustr8, sounds like your where you should be, getting things looked after! Here’s to continued healing!
  7. My surgeon told me to expect 8-10 lbs a month, so that sounds about right? But true everyone loses at different rate. Don’t focus only the number on the scale, sometimes it’s best not to weigh yourself daily and just stay the course! Good luck!
  8. Checking in! RNY July 5 th HW 257, SW 240, CW 193. Things are going well so far, my biggest challenges have been eating out with friends! Eating out is such a social thing I struggle with what to order, usually try to share and just have a small amount of whatever but it’s not always healthy.......oh, and I found out that iron isn’t my friend ?. Trying to find one that won’t cause constipation! My weight loss has been slower then some but I am over 60 so there is that! But I had lost the same amount of weight 10 years ago on WW and it took 2 years so when I look at it that way it’s amazing!
  9. I can honestly say if I had read this thread before surgery I probably would not have gone forward with mine.....? Praying for fast healing for all ???
  10. Website says Latex free!
  11. They only have to be worn for 8 hrs so I put one on when I go to bed and take them off in the morning. I find I have to think about the pills all day as you can’t take iron with calcium and calcium usually have to take at least twice a day or more.........
  12. Please keep me updated! Thank you!
  13. Hey Matt Z, really appreciate you keeping us that are interested posted on your results! ?
  14. It will be pretty hard to get through dinner without anybody noticing. If you don’t want anyone questioning you maybe the flu is a good plan? Pretty hard to hide when your only on purées. Good luck!
  15. Frustr8, what brand of Prenatal Vitamins do you use? Are you getting any relief from precious yet?
  16. I did just that. I had already ordered 3 months worth and when I asked my nutritionist about them she said they didn’t know enough about them so didn’t recommend them. I decided to use them for my first 3 months until I was cleared to swallow pills. When I had my 3 month labs done everything was excellent, I asked her if deficiencies would turn up that soon and she said she can tell right away if people aren’t taking their vitamins. I switched to a Bariatric multi with iron and have been struggling with constipation ? I never had any problems with the patch so I might just go back to them? I never did tell her that I used the patch. I realize some deficiencies might take awhile to develop but lots of people are using them with good results!
  17. Just curious, I’m only 4 months out but this is kinda freaking me out! Can you tell me if there was anything specific that caused the stretching or is this just something that happens over time? No judging just wonder what’s down the road I should watch out for. I didn’t know there was a revision for this? Good luck to everyone ?
  18. Good to hear, I know they are controversial as some Drs think there isn’t enough research on them yet? But I love them, tired of taking pills all day!
  19. Because with the patch it’s a one shot deal, taking pills you need multi, iron, calcium, vitamin D, extra Bs and B12 and some people like me suffer from constipation with all these supplements but not with the patch. Those are my reasons and labs have been great so far!
  20. Yes, how did things go frustr8?
  21. So sorry your all going through this, sounds horrible! Hope the healing will begin ?
  22. Oh wow ?! Is that all since the surgery or did you have ulcers before? Did they open up the stricture during the procedure?
  23. So is that what your EGD showed 5 ulcers??
