Way to go!! Congrats on your successful journey to date and much more success to you until you reach goal!!!!!- Feeling frustrated
WLS is a huge mind game. You have to be mentally prepared to adapt to whatever necessary at that moment. Don't let things that are out of your control frustrate you. Get your mindset to where you can adapt and try to stay positive about it. Good luck to you on this journey!!!- From 24 to....
Way to go loser. And I say that in the most loving sincere way. Congrats to you on your success and on discovering a new life!!!- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
I've had it happen twice and I vomited. It happened again last night but I didn't vomit this time because I spit the food in my mouth out. When it did come up I got the slimes and nausea almost immediately after I swallowed. I'd say pretty much the whole meal comes up also. SUCKS.- Liquid
Is it an issue with remembering? Is it painful to consume? Does it make you nauseous? What specifically is holding you back from consuming what you are supposed to?- Great podcast about weight gain/loss and diet.
Listening to this podcast at the moment. Extremely interesting. A lot of scientific big words but even I understand it. Dom D’Agostino, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, and a senior research scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). Layne Norton is a renowned prep/physique coach and pro-natural bodybuilder/powerlifter with a PhD in Nutritional Sciences.- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Be careful adding new foods to your diet. I've read some horror stories from folks here that have eaten things too soon and have had bad reactions. There was one poster not to long ago that had to have a hospital visit and wound up starting from ground zero (liquids) when she was let out.- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Yeah I get it. We almost all go through it. I wish there was an easy solution for you but really it's just getting used to the new lifestyle. Have you tried powdered protein and making your own. You can add different things to it like frozen fruit or PB2. Of course if it's allowed at this stage for you.- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
What's hard for you? What are you having issues with. A lot of the programs are different some have to be on liquids for 2 weeks others can start on mushy food they day of surgery. Is it even eating/hunger your having issues with?- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
My moobs are shrinking and I'm as happy as can be!!!!!!- Three weeks post op.
Welcome @Philip E. to the site. Congrats on getting through the process and getting approved. An even bigger CONGRATS on your successful surgery and weight loss thus far. Good luck on your journey!!!!- Unsupportive partners make me so angry!
I think a part of the issue (in some cases a big part) is that the individual allows themselves to be in that position to begin with. In order to go through this journey you have to be strong willed and willing to give up the lifestyle that got you into a bad place. The individual has to make that decision not the partner, kids, mother, father, aunt, neighbor or mailman. It's your life to live, healthy or miserable and possibly sick like before WLS. Sure take your partners feeling into consideration but if they have no valid reason, and I don't think there is one, for not agreeing with you going through with it than there shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes (most of the time) it's a personal issue they have themselves, be it jealousy or whatever. So like they say, Place the oxygen mask on yourself first before you go to help others.- My experience so far with sleeve (6 weeks in)
It's tough learning this new process. I learned a lot from the posts here about foods to eat and researching recipes online. As time goes on things will get easier. You shouldn't fear foods, just avoid what you know your not supposed to eat. If your worried how you will react to foods just try them in small amounts. Good luck to you!!!- New Memer
Welcome Tammy/ @bowyert . There's a lot to like about this place. Hope your doing well.- I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

https://www.amazon.com/RENPHO-Bluetooth-Body-Fat-Scale/dp/B01N1UX8RW I use this scale with app. Pretty cheap and works great.- Face to Face Friday!
Looking great!!! Congrats on your success!!!!- Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Same here. Have swallowed whole since 2nd day home from hospital. My program says we are allowed to swallow any meds as long as they are smaller than the bed of your pinkie nail. Otherwise cut in half. You can crush if you want or are having issues swallowing the pills. I always swallowed them all at once, 8 pills total but after surgery I dropped down to 2 pills at a time for about 2 weeks then back to normal. I had to switch a few to chewable as per my NP due to absorption ( B12, Multi with Iron and Calcium Citrate).- Face to Face Friday!
I only see slight changes and only in pictures. When I look in the mirror it's the same old me staring back.- Hand my Sleeve on Sept. 5, happy and miserable!
Congrats on your surgery!! Try slowing down when you drink and/or taking smaller sips, consuming less. I had the same issue and figured out that I was taking in just a bit to much. By consuming less each time but sipping more often it worked out great. Good luck to you on your journey!!!- Swimsuit worries
Tell your sister to kick rocks. You'll look as good as you feel. Don't worry about swimsuit just know that you'll be able to enjoy the trip a hell of a lot more than you would if you didn't lose the weight. - Quotes & Inspiration
