Hi had anyone experienced a bunch of diarrhea post surgery? I started getting it right before I left the hospital 2 days post op. Is this normal?

My dr said that I will be able to swallow any small pills that I take rught after surgery. I had surgery thursday and came home today. I am supposed to start my eloquis pills tonight but am so scared to try because drinking water and other liquids still feels yucky.

Hi! My surgery was yesterday and I only started sipping water and watered down juice today. My dr made me drink from medicine cups. I feel it goes down very weird. It like bubles or something, I can’t explain it but it hurts a bit. I had to take liquid norco a few hours ago for my headache and that really hurt as it was going down:( anyone else have or had this problem when they first started sipping liquids? Also, on top of all my gas my stomach keeps growling as if it is hungry lol. My head isn’t hungry at all though??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

I just had my surgery yesterday morning. I was supposed to eat low carb atkins style for one week prior to surgery and a full liquid diet the day before surgery. Well that didn’t happen lol?I ate pretty much everything in smaller portions and only liquids for a day and a half instead of one day before. Surgery was a success and I am positive yours will be as well! Good luck!

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES?????? I feel better now after hearing so many horror stories that we will never be able to eat foods we love again lol. I love spicy food and sushi, thai, chinese, etc. Now I know that I will be able to eat all those hopefully but in tiny amounts?????? I just had my surgery today about 10 hours ago and so far am so thankful that so far all is ok??! Last 2 years I had 2 hernia surgeries and those were the worst recovery of my life???so I was so scared of this one. Thankfully, so far it is much easier than hernia repair!

Thank you. You are very right! I actually had the lapband done in 2004 and it didn’t work for me at all:( I was smaller at that time and then my port got infected and I had the band removed in 2009. I have been yo yo dieting all my life starting from 4th grade when my parents sent me to fat camp? All the yo yo dieting made me balloon up to 375 pounds?I have been struggling with major depression for the past 6 years and Completely lost all my willpower:( when did you have surgery and how are the results?

Hi. I am scheduled for surgery June 7th and my dr just told me to try to eat less carbs starting now and full liquid diet the day before. I am trying my best to eat less carbs but I am still eating everything in smaller portions??‍♀️anyone here not follow a pre op diet and was everything ok?
