  1. All I would add is that don't freak out over a single day of increased caloric intake. It can be explained with lower water intake, increased carbs, or even protein makeup. Go back to the basics and make sure you are not drinking with your meals and that you are not using sauces on/with your protein portions. Keep proteins dry with spices only and eat more of this type of protein if hunger prevails. I've been at a weight loss stall of 40 lbs for almost 8 months and that is adding in a burn of 6500+ calories for the past two months. Although the scale is still not moving I have felt the need to add additional proteins to keep the hunger at bay. I'll chalk the immobile scale to a gain in muscle weight instead.

  7. Same as LaNueva_Janie...I switch between the Centrum chewables and the patches. I also use the liquid D3 and Vitamin B's. Liquid calcium is thick and sometimes just does not go down well.
  8. Egg Bites are delicious. Also the protein boxes from Starbucks are pretty good and work for breakfast, snack and lunch all in one box. The PB&J is my favorite.
  9. I can drink beer but it is not in quantity. 1/2 - 1 full beer fills me up and of course you have to go slow with the carbonation. I don't drink much of anything else except water and tea so every now and then I will have a beer.

  11. You may want to take at least a week as you will have a drainage bulb on your surgical site. It is a little disgusting to deal with outside of your home. If you can work from home all the better. I was off four days (Friday and the weekend) then worked from home for a week. Very little pain besides the gas bubble in my shoulder area. Good luck.
  12. Not me but my husband had a slipped band and did the sleeve in April. He absolutely loves the sleeve over the band. He has lost 77 lbs so far and does not experience the puking and heaviness in the chest with the sleeve. He has said that he wished he never did the band as he had great success but was basically tortured with the drawbacks experienced. Good luck with your conversion. I think you are gonna be very pleased with the ease of the sleeve over the band.
  13. I'm 7 months out and can do an egg roll and 3-4 pieces of sushi before being full.
  14. I'm at 7 months and have lost 40 lbs...husband has lost almost 75. Everyone is different on how quickly they lose the weight but don't get discouraged. Stay on the high protein meals and let your body do the rest.

  16. I wish I had answers but no, nothing. I started losing my hair around the 4 month mark and it continued through about the 6 month mark. I've taken biotin since before my sleeve and have lost 40 lbs since April 2018. My hair loss is just now starting to slow down and all the new growth is popping through. New growth feels spongy...haha and sticks straight up.
  17. Bite the bullet and go to a "Good Feet" store for a fitting. They can determine based on your gait what shoe brands will fit you best. It's a little pricey but oh so worth it to find a shoe that snuggles your arch and doesn't slip off the heel when you walk. New Balance, Ascic, Brooks and Saucony are great brands but you need to know which style will fit you best.
  18. Great question. I, like many others have tried a couple of different types of vitamins. I typically do a multi-vitamin Mega Premium, biotin Life Pro, B12 Max Absorption. D3 and calcium/magnesium tropical oasis. I started with the liquid forms and like the combo of a centrum multi with liquid biotin and D. I also have the patches that I use for a break from the oral meds. I'm not a fan of pills so I need that break every now and then.
  19. I'm sure it is different for everyone, but I eat protein first, then veggies. I don't deny myself any type of food. I eat a slice of pizza if I want it but I make sure it has lots of protein on it (cheese, meat, then a few veggies). I usually only eat 1 slice but it is enough to curb my appetite. There are also several Keto recipes (chicken or cauliflower crust) that are actually great alternatives. I also eat Keto protein waffles or pancakes if I feel a weekend splurge creeping up. On days that I feel I am not managing my protein as well I have some protein gel shots that have 20g of pure protein. I mix it with 1 ounce of water but you can do just the gel if you like the intense flavor. I also try to hit 45-60 g of protein per day.
  20. Agree the liquid was difficult because your body is adjusting to a lower quantity of food. Broth and egg drop soup along with Premier Shakes (these are very good with little after taste). I did not do a lean meal but a meat with plain veggies would fit the bill. example: Chicken and Broccoli or eggs. It gets so much easier on about day 4 of the liquid diet. Good luck.
  21. I have similar story with loss occuring approximately month 4 thru month 7. I now have new growth at about 1 inch. Makes for some bad hair days for sure. I meet 50 g protein daily, took biotin from the beginning and religiously take my multi-vitamins. Hair loss was due to the body shock that others explained. There is light at the tunnel but definitely felt like I was going bald there for a while.
