  1. Have you tried these clear protein “shakes”? There are a couple flavors. Cheapest at Sam’s club but also found on amazon
  2. He’s doing my sleeve + hernia repair at the same time on Thursday!
  3. I really like them. He explained all the options very well and did not try to talk me into anything. It’s a busy office but they always speak to me right away or call back super quick if I have a question. He operates there at Harris and also at Plano surgical center (depending on who is in network for your insurance)
  4. Found out Sam’s Club carries premier clear protein water.! There’s a $4 off coupon right now [emoji1373] making it almost half price from amazon
  5. Some insurances do require longer nutrition counseling
  6. I have Aetna insurance I had to write down all of my attempts at weight loss, do 90 days of nutrition counseling, a stress test and a sleep apnea test.
  7. Dr Bagshahi - his office is attached to Harris Methodist downtown. I didn’t need my family doctor to approve a thing. Bagshahi’s Office does it all
  8. My surgeon is in Fort Worth and I’m scheduled for 3/29! Happy to chat at any time
  9. I guess each doctor wants different. Mine gave me a minimum of 75
  10. On the pre-op liquid diet how many calories were you all getting in? I got 80g of protein today but it was only 300 calories. Wondering if that’s anything to be worried about
  11. Day 1 of pre-op liquids! [emoji1373][emoji1373] Here I go. I can do this!
  12. You’re going to do great!
  13. Are you getting more calories on the days you work out? When your body doesn’t think you’re going to replace what you’ve exerted, it hangs on. A good friend of mine had a sleeve 2 years ago and said her loss slowed when she went back to boot camp but it really helped with toning and her body fat % was still dropping, clothes fitting looser, etc.
  14. I have Aetna and they approved my surgery before I even scheduled a sleep study. It was the surgeon that wanted it and I have to bring my CPAP to surgery. Turns out I did have apnea and this machine has resolved my morning headaches and need for a nap!
  15. Mine is 3/29 and I started weening myself today by mixing part decaf and part regular. My plan is to be off it before the liquid phase starts on 3/22
  16. Hmm I wonder if I’ll get that ?? The doctor’s office so far only told me about wearing the things on my legs for a week to prevent clots...
  17. I have genepro and it says 30g per “scoop” ....there is clearly a sticker over the old label! ? that does make me nervous now... I should clarify what I’m asking about is the Isopure clear liquid drinks. They say 40g per bottle whereas premier clear says 20g
  18. Start my clear liquid pre-op next week. Anyone using Isopure? I’m reading it’s nasty but it has twice as much protein as Premier Clear so....
  19. I do use MyFitnessPal currently but I’m looking for something with a timer to remind me about vitamins etc
  20. Is anyone using an app to track water, protein, etc? Curious which ones are liked the best. My surgery is scheduled for 3/29. Paid part of my co-pay yesterday - it’s happening! [emoji4]
  21. Definitely just go with your doctor’s list. Each doc does it a little different. For example, I only have to do 7 days but it’s clear liquids (no optifast, no premiere protein)
  22. March 29th for me! Excited and nervous. Trying to keep everything straight - considering making a calendar. Thankful I only have to do 7 days of pre-op but it’s clear liquids so no protein shakes ? Time to start messing with unflavored protein + soup I guess. I’ll take any suggestions anyone has!! Also a little concerned that the plan is only 1 day in the hospital. I’m in Fort Worth
  23. In process with Bagshahi - anyone know if they weigh you when you go do your quest labs? I’m in such a precarious position where I cannot gain or lose in order for insurance to approve. It’s making me crazy! Lol
