  1. I had surgery on 7-10-08 and choose the realized band. Just had a fill last Thursday. (4 cc's) Everything has been going great. Have not been sick or had anything get stuck yet.(knock on wood...lol) 'The really cool part of choosing the realized band....you get special access to the website to personalize your journey. You also get good recipes, its really cool.
  2. Jut wanted to say, Ebeth....basically what everyone on here is trying to say...stick with your doctors advice and I agree with that, but after reading alot of posts in the last three weeks and especiialy the ones on this thread I can see how this would make you feel terrible, but please don't let it....some people think they know everything when they don't....when it boils down to it.....we all make mistakes, we are all human, except for a select few on here who just love to constantly attack one another like animals! Get yourself back on track and follow the rules of the professionals and you will do just fine. I have faith in you and I will be praying for you and your journey. I also want to say to anyone who reads this....lets all remember that our lives as overweight people have been difficult enough....lets all stay positive, give good advice and constructive criticism, but lets be frinedly about it. We need to be here to support each other and hopefully we make friends.....not enemies!
  3. What part of jersey do you live in?
  4. Hi Wendy, I live in New Jersey (right on Delaware/Jersey border) and just had surgery on 7-10-08. I had my surgery at St. Francis in Wilmington, DE. My surgeon was Dr. Wynn of Chrias. Just wondering who is your doctor and where will you have the surgery? I had a wonderful experience at St. Francis, everyone was just terrific. Good luck and if you need any advice or refereces, I would be happy to help out.

  12. Thanks so much for the info; your right that is alot of carbs. I would rather have a samwich too! My doc says don't drink anything with a serving more than 7 grams of carbs, so I'll stay away for now..... but thanks anyway. (I live in South Jersey)
  13. Geez, I was thinkin the same thing....I hope I can find these on the East Coast. Sounds Great for a change!!
  14. Hairloss does happen to alot of bypass patients. Lapband patients absord all the viatmins and nutrients that are taken in, whereas bypass patients dont. It is extremely important for you to get ALOT of protein in and take your vitamins every day. You really need to talk to a doctor/nutrionist and find out how much protein you should be consuming on a daily basis!! Good luck to you!:wink2: P.S. my doc says to get 64 fluid ounces every day and 64 grams of protein everyday.
  15. I was banded on 7-10-08. In the first two weeks, I also experienced some back pain. I didn't even say anything to my doctor cause I thought it was normal. Now I'm in my third week post-op and I haven't had any pain for a couple days. If you are that uncomfortable and can't sleep, that definitley sounds like a red flag to me. :confused2: I would get checked out. Good luck to ya and hope your feeling better soon!
