  1. Taoz I am so glad that my sharing helped you. I don’t want anyone to experience what I did. The pain was just below being in labor and I have a high pain threshold. I am back on track now. I have my post-op appointment today and will make sure that the bowel routine I have started is sufficient to prevent a recurrence. Blessings to you!!!

  5. My advice would be to do some type of bowel preparation a day or two before the surgery. I thought about it but didn’t. I am pretty sure the cause of my issue was from what was left in my intestines pre-surgery. I only had to do a liquid diet the day before surgery so that also was a factor. You can do this!!! You will be fine if you take care of it ahead of time. Good Luck to you! Staci SW 219.5 CW 207.2 Surgery Date 5/2/18 Gastric Sleeve

  9. Today is my 5th day post surgery. I spent most of it in the Emergency Room because of severe constipation/stool impaction. I am a Registered Nurse and tried everything that I could think of to help me but nothing worked. Finally I was in such severe pain and in tears that I had my daughter take me to the ER. I was so embarrassed and desperate for help. Finally, after a Soap Suds Enema and retaining it for an eternity I was able to get relief. I am so tired and weak from today and so scared that this will happen again. I have never had constipation before. I have been taking the Colace twice daily as ordered. I added Dulcolax yesterday. Praying that this is a one time thing. Staci SW 219.5 CW 207.2 Surgery Date 5/2/18 Gastric Sleeve
  10. I can’t tell whether I am hungry or having gas pain. Am I supposed to be hungry? With clear liquids is there a schedule to follow or just continuous fluids, clear liquids throughout the day? Staci SW 219.5 CW 207.2 Surgery Date 5/2/18 Gastric Sleeve
  11. I was sleeved yesterday 5/2/18 at Kaiser West LA. Experiencing gas pains, abdominal pain and some hunger. I think my body is just confused. Started sips of water today but only made it through 45cc in an hour before I had to stop due to nausea and gas. I am walking but it has only relieved some of it. Good luck to you! 15. Hello- I just finished the Options class in Baldwin Park on January 29th. Our surgery center is Kaiser West LA. My surgery consult is scheduled for February 27th. The Options classes were helpful in learning more about the types of surgery and getting started on eating right and exercising. The average weight time for surgery at KP West LA is 77 days from the date of your consult . Good luck to you, glad you started this journey too. Staci
  16. Hi Jaz- This is my first post as well. I live in Southern California, and my insurance provider Kaiser Permanente, requires a 12 session OPTIONS class to learn about the surgery and prepare with diet and exercise. I just completed OPTIONS on January 29th. My surgical consult is scheduled for February 27th. We have been told that there is an average weight time of 77 days from the date of our consult. I have lost 10 lbs since starting OPTIONS in Novemeber, and Kaiser requires a 10% weight loss prior to surgery so I have 12 more lbs to lose. I pray that I can meet their requirments, this surgery is so important to me. I am so happy that I found this site. Looking forward to walking through this journey with people at all stages along the path. Blessings-Staci
