    June 2018 losers bench

I had my 1 month follow up last week and lost a total of 24 pounds since the start of my liquid diet. i was a little bit disapointed but the whole team was very pleased so I will listen to them. I have my first appointment with my personal trainer this week so I am definetely looking forward to that. My incisions are also finally healed, yeah ! Incision issues ?

As long as it is pinkish or yellow, there is no infection. Green would be a sign of infection. However, if the incision is yellow inside, it is gonna heal so you want to drain it so it is red again. I have problems with my incisions and they are taking a bit longer to heal and they have some discharge. Where I am, they are not taking care of by my surgeon's office but by a local clinic. Still, I had to go back every 2 days so they could change bandages and put some gel/sterile water. So make sure they are getting checked because we don't want to get them infected or just delay healing. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

You absolutely need to go back for that. The incision is not gonna heal by itself with the yellow stuff. As long as there is no green, there is no infection. But you still need specific care. I was sleeved on June 5. I am attaching my worst incision that also reopen. It's less than an inch long. The clinic wants to see me every two days and they said it should take another 2-3 weeks before it heals. Just to give you an idea. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Coffee

I started decaf at 9 days post-op I believe, with pureed food. Before everyone freaks out, this is what my program recommends. We were told that we can switch to regular coffee if we tolerate it well. I have one cup every morning, like I used to do - but honnestly I usually drink half. I never drank coffee with a straw so I still don't but I sip my water through a bottle with a straw and it works just fine. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Side Effects?

I had something similar. They were basically gas - air that I swalloed while I was eating. It is way more difficult for the sleeve to burp than a regular sized stomac. Eating smaller sips helped me but also just time. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and it is completely gone. Yes you are able to paranoid ! But also, give yourself time. It is normal to experience new sensations Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I had my meeting with my nutritionnist this morning. She said 800 cals is fine, not too much, that it could be lower but not really to change anything major. The most important thing is to not eat food that is not nutritive or that we don't need. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I will let you know how the meeting goes. And let us know what your own NUT thinks. There are many different programs and not one way to lose weight. I know I don't do well on very restrictive diets but some strive on these kinds of plans. How are you doing on purees and liquids? When I was on full liquid, I could take on many calories because liquids would just slide through. On purees, I would have lots of greek yogourt, hummus, etc. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I was sleeved on June 5. I don't think I have a lot of swelling in my stomach left because I can eat about 3/4 cup of food in a setting. I eat about 800 cal a day, 60g of protein, but I will see my NUT tomorrow so this might change. I start mushy food today, I have been on purees for a week, I think ? At this point, I can more or less eat like the rest of the family : crustless quiche, dahl, cauliflower and ricotta puree. Today, I am making turkey meatballs so I am super excited ! June 2018 losers bench

@pearldrop so no infection, yeah ! But 3 out of 6 incisions are open - healed inside but they are not closing any time soon. So I need to go back to the clinic every two days so they can check for infection and change the bandage. Oh well. How was your day back at work ? How is everyone doing ? Are you all losing like crazy ? Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Starting Puree

Egg or chicken salad Avocado chicken and potato puree (found on Pinterest) Hummus Any vegetable in puree Bake soft tofu with cheese and milk (makes like a crustless quiche) If you like cooking, search for baby food recipes. Puree stage allows you to eat what you like, enjoy ! Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

I do not put anything on my incisions because they are still covered at the moment, except for one (this one is healing great). In fact, I might have a start of infection in one so I am going to the clinic tomorrow Good luck for your return to work tomorrow ! Hope everything goes smoothly. What about freezing your protein shake as homemade popsicles ? I do that and it's good. But I gotta say I have been on purees since 3 days and it's a game changer. Hang on it won't be very long Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

Well done ! You ARE a fast healer! I hope the diet is going just as well. Are you on purees ? I just had my staples removed today and most of my incisions are far from gone. I think I move a little too much with my 2 year old. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I just weighed in for the first time since the surgery and I lost 6 pounds in one week. That is 14 lbs since the liquid diet, or 6% of my weight. Pre op and post-op liquid diets are not easy but let's keep our eyes on the price To the sleevers getting surgery today, I have you in my thoughts. Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Hello fellow June sleevers ! I am a week post op now and feeling great ! I am not recovering anymore since I won't be able to sleep in the afternoon (which was necessary up to that point) and I have no pain whatsoever. I can take care of my 2 year old and walk her to daycare so that's fun. I feel like I am doing full liquids a little bit too well : I was able to drink about 10 oz of soup and apple sauce for lunch without issue (I was obv full after). Anyone else can take as much ? Wow pearldrop you're doing great with water. I am really jealous of your daily coffee. I can have decaf in 3 days. It's starting to be a long time, especially because I feel so low energy. I am on semi-liquid now so I am allowed soft rice crispies in milk for breakfast. I have 1/2 cup of protein shake for snack or yogurt and soup for lunch or dinner. I also like frozen shakes for dessert or snack. Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I am also in great need of hope ! This is my day 4 and i am allowed shakes tomorrow only. And i am not meeting my liquid goal at all. I thought I was doing fine until I realized going to Costco and right after grocery shopping was way too much and that I needed a nap. I hope I have more energy starting tomorrow with full liquids / thin purees ! Sent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app
