  1. Thanks for the talking to, everyone. I’ve been really good for the last week, but yesterday was bad. I had a plate of sautéed spinach, chickpea salad and a piece of sweet potato and spinach salad. I guess it wasn’t the worst thing ingredient wise, but it pushed me over my calorie limit for the day. Back to my tracker today. Thanks everyone.
  2. Thanks! I went to my favorite middle eastern restaurant and loved every second of it! And paired it with a favorite wine. Tomorrow is another day....
  3. I’m 1.5 weeks out and my surgeon doesn’t require a liquid diet pre-surgery. I have eaten so much today. More than I have in a long time. Anyone else go through this? Is this a “food funeral”?
  4. How do you know if you have this? What other post op complications are common? I’m traveling for this, so I will stay in town a full three days following surgery. Hopefully any issues will be apparent by then.
  5. March 29th. Traveling from NJ to Dallas bc I’m self pay and it is infinitely more affordable there. I am so beyond excited!!!!!!
  6. Hi. I hate taking narcotic pain meds. I took them the first day or two after my first c section and I was a mess. I switched tontylenol and Advil after that. Same with my second c section. I just took Advil and Tylenol. How bad is the pain from the sleeve? I’m planning on just taking Advil and Tylenol. Is that realistic? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst, how would you rate it? thanks!
  7. Thank you for the talking to I needed. One thing that gets me to snap out of it is considering the alternative. I’m sick of struggling to get up off the floor after playing with my girls. I sick of not going to the theater because my ass doesn’t fit in the freakin’ seat. I’m sick of buying new clothes and now only being on the web because I loathe dressing rooms. My health is still ok, TG. I’m lucky in that sense. I fear the day my little girls grow up to realize their mother is the fat old lady. So yes, big girl (no pun intended) panties coming on. Glad I just did laundry.
  8. I’m a couple of weeks away and I’m getting nervous. Will I ever be able to eat a couple of bites of birthday cake again? Will I forever only be able to eat two spoonfuls at a time? Will I ever enjoy an occasional (half) glass of wine again? Will I stick with it or will I be part of the 30% that regains the weight? Did others go through this?

  10. Thanks. That’s a good question. What do you tell people about the WL? I’m planning on just saying “Gee, lots of exercise and protein,” which would be true!
  11. I keep hearing about regain. How do folks keep it off long term? Does something else take the place of food as a self soothing mechanism? Exercise, needlepoint, etc.?
  12. We had a phone consult, and I liked him very much. He took the most thorough medical history of anyone I’ve apoken with. Im just wondering what the post-op services are like. For example, if you stall, donthey help you figure out the issue? I’m from out of town, so I wouldn’t be able to make use of on-site services. Thanks!
  13. This may be old news to you guys, but I came across this stuff called Pb2. It’s powdered peanut butter. They’ve pressed all of the oil out and ground it down. Once you add water to it, 2 tbsp = 50 cal/5 g protein, 2 g sugar. The chocolate pb version is only slightly less protein, and one more gram of sugar, but delicious enough to be its own dessert. Got it on Amazon.
  14. First of all...thank you for answering my endless questions...! I read about people staying at about 800 cal, give or take. How do you consume 60g protein at 800 calories? Is it by eating nothing but beef and chicken all day? Lol. I’m already at 1200-1400 daily (and don’t lose weight), so I really need to go low cal...). My metabolism is slower than that of a sloth.
  15. Cheryl_gut, did you get a sense of what Dr. Dirk’s patient support team was like? I spoke with him today and liked him very much. I’m just wondering how they are about providing post op support. I know you may not be able to answer, since you transferred.
  16. It’s good to hear that. Glad it worked for you! My weight shot yo when I went on lithium. I always had a hard time losing, but it became impossible on Lithium. Just impossible. Hoping the sleeve works.
  17. Gee. I’m so sorry about that! Sounds miserable. Made me nauseous the first few times, but after that, I was fine. I feel nice and stable with it. i just hope I’m not going through all this trouble for nothing, given that I’m taking it.
  18. I spoke with a surgeon today who said he couldn’t estimate how much weight I would lose since I take lithium, which makes sense. Has anyone had experience with this?

  20. Ah, that’s right.
  21. Ah. I’m self pay, unfortunately. I hope you’re having a great recovery!
