  3. Ok, thank you that is nice to hear! [emoji1] For the first time in my life I am dead serious about getting healthy and I want this to work and am doing everything I can. Since I finally care about it I just worry that my best efforts may not be enough!
  4. Like I said, I know I am worrying waaaay to much about this, it's just nice to hear a little positive affirmation from other people who have gone through it. [emoji1]
  5. Hello! I had gastric bypass done on 02/01, and as of this morning I have lost 47 lbs so far, does it seem like I am on track with what should be expected from this? I know I am being overly paranoid about this, but I am just a worrier by nature. I do as much as I can to make sure I am successful at losing weight, I stick to the diet they tell me, exercise, take my vitamins, etc. But on days where I weight myself and see the scale has only gone down a tiny bit, well it makes me start to worry!

  8. Why did no one tell me about the trapped gas? Oh my God, it hurt. So. BAD. They had to give me Dilaudid to mask the pain just so I could sleep. Went home yesterday and mostly slept the rest of the day and through the night. The trapped gas is gone but I somehow managed to pull a muscle in both forearms, which has been extremely pianful. Luckily the right arm is mostly feeling better, the left still has a way to go. Managing to get in my water and protein shakes which is good, yesterday it was a little tough but today has been no issue.
  9. Mine is the day after yours, I am also feeling nervous and excited!
  10. I'm getting bypass a day after you, except I am having it done with Kaiser in Northern California!
  11. I have told basically everyone, I'm not too concerned if people don't approve of it, I am doing this for me not for them.

  15. Oh I think its definitely worth it, just think of all the positive benefits it will have!
  16. I got delayed several months for factors that I won't go in to, but I got my surgery date and will be having gastric bypass done on Feb 1st! I feel so relieved that after months of back and forth with my health insurance, they have finally given me the all clear and I have a date on the books! I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous, getting surgery of any kind done is always scary! (I mean who likes anesthesia!?) But I at least feel good knowing that this will be a wonderful tool in my weight loss arsenal. I have never been an average sized adult so I am not even going to know what to do with myself!!! Walk in Target and buy clothes off the rack? ME???
  17. WOW! This is super inspiring, we both have similar starting weights! I have always put off looking at before and after photos for fear that I would be stuck at a larger size, which is silly, but I am glad this is the first post I came across!!
  18. I have Kaiser Nor Cal, it's probably similar but different in some ways. It took me about 8 months, but I had some other unrelated issues that I had to fight worth them to get approval. For most people as soon as you go through the two intro classes and hit your goal weight you can get sheduled. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
