  1. Wow! You look amazing! Congratulations! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  2. The three week stall is very common. Hang in there! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  3. My surgery was May 2. My BMI was below 34 on the day of surgery. The weight loss seems slower for me than others. Time will tell! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  4. The riced cauliflower is a great substitute for mashed potatoes and pasta. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  5. So glad it is nothing serious! Please take care of yourself! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  6. That is the funny thing. My clothes feel much baggier even with the stall. You’ve got this figured out! Thanks!
  7. 400 mg Magnesia tablet every night. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  8. The Milk of Magnesia definitely works, but I can hardly swallow it. Yuck! Started taking 400 mg Magnesia tablet at night. They do the trick without making me gag. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  9. Thanks, Syndie! It is so good to hear from others who have been there, done that! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  10. Thanks...I needed to hear this! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  11. My best guess is stomach acid. Are you on Prilosec? HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  12. Hi, So sorry about your heartburn. My surgeon prescribes Prilosec or Omeprazole DR for the first three months. Would that help you? HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  13. Greetings! Looking for a bit of encouragement! The scale dropped 7 lbs during the first week post-op. Since the 8th day post-op, the scale hasn’t moved an ounce! I’m getting all 60 grams of protein and all my fluids and walking 10,000 steps a day. Averaging 800 calories from sugar-free Greek yogurt, tuna with low fat mayo, chicken breast, and low-fat cream soups. I feel great, by the way. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  14. Hi Gully, My BMI was just over 35 at my initial appt. It was lower than 35 on the day of surgery. The weight isn’t falling off quite as fast as others, but it’s all good.
  15. Same issue here. I try to drink a lot of skim milk and add sugar free Carnation Instant breakfast to milk. Adding protein powder to soups or broth works well, too.
  16. Hi Molly, Food getting stuck and burping are your body telling you “too much food” for the tiny stomach so soon.
  17. Suck in, not blow out! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  18. Hi Hopeful, Did the hospital provide one of the breathing apparatus to help take deep breathes? Many people said it helped. I had surgery on May 2. That feeling of malaise sounds very familiar! Mine lasted for about 5 days. The weakness is most likely from the lack of protein and nutrients. There is nothing wrong with stopping to rest! Just take a few more steps each day. It WILL get better! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  19. Oh my! You really have had it rough! Happy thoughts coming your way. Please keep us informed of what happens. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 207 GW: 145
  20. I just put a new one on in the morning and take off the old one at the same time. This works great!
  21. Hi BlondieTex, I did the same thing pre-surgery. Ate all lean protein and no carbs rather than the liquid diet. The goal,of the pre-op diet is ketosis and both will get you there. The funny thing is this faves you’re craving now may not even be in your top 20 after surgery! HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 208 GW: 145
  22. Dear TeatherMarie, So many people on this forum understand what you’re going through and felt the same way. With few exceptions, all of them are so glad they had the surgery. The surgery itself was the easy part since you are not awake. Getting to the surgery will be the hardest part for you. I’ve had 2 back surgeries, 2 C-sections, under anesthesia 2 times for dental, anesthesia for a lumpectomy, etc. After you see the care and professionalism of your medical team in action on the day of surgery, I think you will feel in good hands. Honestly, no stone goes unturned, and all precautions are taken to keep you safe. If you are still uneasy, talk to your Bariatric team staff and ask all the questions you want. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 208 GW: 145
  23. Hi Abe, i asked about the calcium in the PatchMD Multivitamins Plus. My NUT said that Calcium Carbonate is a fine form of calcium when absorbed through the skin. Calcium Citrate is needed when taking calcium orally.
  24. Hi Acuttita, I wonder if a stomach binder might help you get comfortable. I know others have said that it helped them with stomach pain from the incisions. The incision that hurts is the larger incision where the excess stomach is removed. They place a very deep stitch in that area. I hope you feel better soon!
  25. My surgeon said it was fine, and if I wanted one after the surgery to just ask the staff for a binder before leaving the hospital. HW: 225 SW: 214 (5/2/2018) CW: 208 GW: 145
