  1. What about your water intake? I find if I don’t get enough then constipation is an issue. 60 ounces of water is my goal every day, my surgery was 12/18/17.
  2. I would appeal!! I would also be talking with the facility where you had surgery, they had your insurance information and should have d made sure anyone involved in your surgery was covered. I would be so upset! Hope you get this resolved.
  3. I turned 56 in September, had revision from lap band to Bypass on December 18th. Best decision ever!!
  4. Sorry you are having so much trouble with this. ☹️
  5. Have you tried adding a banana or avocado to the protein shake? I find they really add to the texture issue I have. Both seem to thicken and make it smoother.
  6. Sample of what I do, Greek yogurt (14-15g of protein) for breakfast. 2-3 ounces of tuna or chunk canned chicken mixed with very little mayo for lunch. 2-3 ounces of another meat (protein) for dinner. As a 4th meal I have another Greek yogurt. In between I have milk/ protein shake 2 times a day. Key is to get in a lot of protein.
  7. I’m also able to eat things that you can purée by chewing really, really well! I was also told by the PA mushy casseroles would be okay too. My husband made chili with ground Chicken tonight. Was absolutely delicious! He makes a great meatloaf and I was able to have that too. As the dietician stated, it’s not a solid piece of meat. I took it really slow and chewed well and it was wonderful!
  8. Ask for ice, icing your stomach can also help with the swelling and pain. Sorry you are having such a terrible experience! Try to at least rest tonight, and hopefully you get out in the morning.
  9. I’m almost 2 weeks out and absolutely no regrets! I’m down 14 lbs just since surgery, down 23 lbs over all!
  10. My surgery was 12/18/17. No regrets at all! I feel better every day. The only thing is, I tire out easily. I was extremely tired after a trip to the doc and nutritionist a week post op. It’s a 2 hour drive one way. Also, because I was a revision from lap band to Bypass, my surgery was 5 hrs long due to scar tissue and my surgeon took his time and didn’t rush things to get it done properly. That last was from his PA. She is impressed with his patience in surgery. That’s exactly what you want in a surgeon! I was on full liquids the first week with no issues. After my first post op, I was able to advance to soft, puréed foods. That’s working out well too. I won’t lie to you, that evening after surgery, I was sore. Obviously, my stomach hurt, it hurt to move! I had right shoulder pain from gas they put in your stomach for surgery. But the nurses I had were awesome and experienced in dealing with Bariatric patients. Even thought they came in during the night to check vital, I still got a good sleep. Felt so much better the next day. I walked, sat up on the chair for 3 hours and was able to eat jello. I saw my doctor, nutritionist and his PA all before going home. I hope this is as the information you were looking to get. My highest weight 309, I do not have my surgery day weight, thinking it was about 301. According to the doc’s office 1 week our 290! I’m happy with my results. I haven’t stepped on the scale, but plan to every Tuesday. I would be happy to answer any questions for you. Good luck on your decision.
  11. I was able to have them right after surgery, it’s considered a liquid.
  12. Already had one, just didn’t do the trick. I did just ignore it, eventually went away. But thanks!
  13. I had my surgery December 18th, revision from band to Bypass. I’m at the puréed stage I’m my eating,. Tonight, I have the munchies for something solid & crunchy. I don’t know what to do! Any suggestions out there??
  14. Had my revision from lap band to Bypass yesterday December 18. Now I’m headed home.
  15. I am scheduled for revision from Band to Bypass on December 18th. I need to be at the hospital at 9am.
