  1. Smooth Move tea works shockingly well for me. I was a skeptic....but the poo doesn't lie. It works like a charm. Check with your team first, though. Also...the constipation passes. For me, after the second month have not had any issues.
  2. Name brand Splenda vs Store brand Sucralose......I can't tell the difference. I ran blind taste tests at home with three people.... and we couldn't pick out which was which. So now we buy store brand for practically half price.
  3. I have not tried salmon jerky this way....I don't think you could cut the fish thin enough to do it this way without it falling apart, and typically fish jerky is smoked. I do HIGHLY recommend doing salmon steaks on a grill outside, though...so so so so good!
  4. Whipped Yoplait vanilla cupcake greek yogurt. (other good flavors....strawberry cheesecake, peach, coconut) Mousse texture...very tasty. Worth the trip to Walmart. 100 calories 9g Protein
  5. Protien pancakes! (quick oats, egg whites, cottage cheese, baking powder, almond milk....in food processor...makes a great batter) I like to eat these guys with a ton of strawberries crushed with splenda and sugar free whipped cream on top.
  6. Dry meat...homemade. Take your favorite lean beef like round steaks....cut it up in thin strips. Marinate overnight in your favorite flavors. I love garlic, hot peppers, Worcestershire, and Montreal Steak Seasonings. Dangle these guys from one of your oven racks...and put a cookie sheet covered in tinfoil under them to catch the drips (easy clean up). Set the oven to 200 degrees and leave them in there 4-6 hours until they're dry and leathery. So much better than jerky. If you taste this...you will never buy jerky again...and your family will devour this as fast as you can make it. Store in airtight container.
  7. Flapjacked Mighty Muffins.... fat people cake. So good. I'll admit I put some splenda in the batter to make them sweeter. 220 calories, 20 grams of protein. This is like a donut for breakfast with your coffee guilt free.
  8. The right answer is to follow your team's instructions to the letter. The naughty answer is....no one's going to call the police if you try something from the next stage on your instructions. If you do (don't!)...try just a little and wait a couple of hours. See if you're up to it. Do NOT skip ahead too much. The next stage over is as far as i'd risk it. And again....it's stupid (I've been known to be stupid)......it's smarter to wait.
  9. I ate salad with about every kind of veggie...at about 8 weeks. No problems.
  10. I eat sushi:) Most rice I eat is brown, though.
  11. They all squish the shite out of you. Spanx are well made and worth the price.
  12. Don't mean to be rude, but did you gain weight since your last set of pics? I think you look good with a little more meat on your butt
  13. Protien pasta Is AWESOME! https://www.barilla.com/en-us/product-results/pasta/range/proteinplus?sort=alpha Made with flax, barley, oats, chickpeas, lentils and eggwhites. The texture is just a little different and the taste is slightly different....but both are pleasant and you'll feel like you're eating the pasta you used to eat. Awesome for pasta salads with veggies, olives, feta. Awesome for veggie based pasta sauces and lean meats and cheeses. Shockingly good...and a great source of plant based protein.
  14. Riced cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes = yuck! It's just not that great. You can kid yourself for a while...but the illusion doesn't last. LOL HOWEVER! If you mix half steamed riced cauliflower with half real boiled potatoes, and mash them with lowfat buttermilk instead of butter and milk....they are AMAZING. They taste genuinely good and have half the calories and a fraction of the fat. This is a favorite recipe of mine and even normal food eaters....love them. No special sides needed.
  15. Man, I've got a lot of rants... LOL Got to thinking about kids and food and how we often say "I don't want to put my family on a diet just because I am...that's not fair" "I want to be a fun mom and give my kids a childhood...they don't need restrictions. They're kids, for Pete's sake!" And ya know....I was this Mom. And so was my mom. Ouch. She taught me that food=comfort and love. Ouch. She taught me that food=happiness. Ouch. She taught me that fun and celebration and warmth and good times were based around food. Ouch. She taught me that treats like candy and McDonalds are what you get for enduring the doctor's office, going someplace unpleasant, have a bad day, get hurt, need comfort. Ouch. She taught me to cook for everyone, bring treats to neighbors, feed people at work, list everything in the pantry to house guests, make their favorites, cook exquisite resplendent meals.....because feeding people means....you love them/appreciate them/want their respect/want to comfort them and put them at ease. She taught me to find out everyone's favorite drink and favorite snack...and to stock it when they visit. Everyone's favorite candy had to go in their stocking. Everyone's favorite snack at the slumber party. Everyone's favorite topping on their quarter of the pizza. Everyone's favorite ice cream... it didn't hurt me, did it? Wait...I ended up needing bariatric surgery for being morbidly obese. Oh. Crap. We need to rethink some of this stuff, folks. The thing about our kids? They share our genetics. Think about that. They've already got a genetic predisposition to obesity, even if they're thin now. We can't change that. But we CAN change their eating habits. We can change the ideas around food at our houses. We can change what we buy and what we teach them to eat regularly. We can give our kids a legacy of shopping farmers markets and helping them learn to cook really fun and satisfying foods with fruits and veggies. We can teach them to feed themselves good quality foods in appropriate amounts. We can pack them healthy lunches with more whole foods and less crap. We can change the theme of our home food culture....push for more activity and less candy. More walks and hikes and exploration, fewer video games and Netflix marathons. More bowls of cut up veggies in the fridge and fewer bowls of chips and cookies on the counter. We can change our celebrations to showcase fun activities, healthier snacks, more focus on togetherness, less focus on stuffing each other. "I don't want to put my family on a diet just because I am".......might need more thought. "I'm changing our entire household's eating habits because I want this cycle to end. I don't want them to face the issues I did. I want their lives and their relationship with food to be better than mine." Sometimes I think when we continue to feed our families junk while we diet....we create this feedback loop of longing for the comfort we feel we're giving them. And it's messed up...because again, it lacks compassion for ourselves. It continues to give food power and emphasis. Worse...it TEACHES that food is comfort and love....And it doesn't break the cycle:( I'm not saying kids shouldn't have treats and balance and junk food once in a while. God knows they will. LOL. And it's fine. I'm just sayin....we could do a lot to improve their everyday diets in ways that would serve them well in life. We could give them better skills and better prepare them for taking care of their health. We can provide a better normal. Do some thinking today about the food culture at your house growing up, the food culture you give your kids currently...and the food culture you hope your kids will have when they grow up. It's worth considering.
  16. Totally just messin around, dutchamy:) But thanks Congrats on your surgery approval! Best wishes for a safe effective outcome:)
  17. Ode to Loose Skin My body droops now Like melted string cheese, or Tommy Wiseau Flacid fat, deflated flesh balloon Crepey like wadded tissue, gross as a handful of chicken fat Ugly and endearing as a manatee (the pancake of the sea) I love every inch of my loose hide Every sagging absence of fat Where my angular clavicles slant Propelled by calves that could have been Sculpted by Michelangelo Makes me smile at its absurdity We laugh to survive
  18. Whatever's cheap and has the right ingredients. I do store brand knock offs of Flintstones Complete....they're little animal shapes. LOL Store brand Vitamin D and B12 cherry flavor Generic B Complex....yucko...but I take it. And a ton of rock hard june bug sized Calcium Citrate. Buy one massive bottle, get one free. I munch them up and swallow them with a swig of hot coffee.
  19. The heart isn't cause I particularly "like" your post, Kathy. Just sending some love. Will cross my fingers for a new kidney. PS...I'm good for a low protein recipe or two:)
  20. I just like the idea of making my hubby wear a monkey suit and buying an expensive dress. Why the hell not? I deserve a little glamour, dammit. LOL
  21. It won't help. Your death breath is ketosis....it makes your breath smell like ammonia and maple syrup. Kinda like a cat pan at house of pancakes. It passes. If you want, you can swish with mouthwash and spit.
  22. One kinda funny thing.... I keep raiding my daughter's closet. All those cool clothes I bought her that she never really liked...are MINE! LOLOLOLOL. She has this one really awesome dark brown leather fitted blazer that I want...but so far she keeps clutching it and glaring at me. "You can borrow it Mom. BORROW! Buy your own damned clothes, Woman! OH MY GOD, are you wearing my underwear?"
  23. My surgeon will work with the patient's preference. Both are safe, effective surgeries. Statistically the average person loses 70% of their excess weight with bypass, and 60% with sleeve. But that's average...so with both surgeries you can also hit goal or screw it up. Bypass is correlated to a few more nutrition absorption concerns, a few more post surgical problems, and of course...the dreaded dumping...which sleeve people don't generally get. Doctors are not trying to screw you over....they're trying to give you options.
  24. I have watched a box of cheezits sit in my cupboard for months. My mom and daughter love them. Ate one today to see if I was missing out on something special. Bleh! You guys have gotta be kidding! LOL...different strokes for different folks for sure! But I get it. I had to flush a bag of cinnamon imperials...because they sing to me. I know, I know...gross little cinnamon candies...how in the world could THAT be tempting? No clue, but I love them with a love deeper than a smother. We all have our weirdness
