$2.79 here in Denver! Was 45 bucks to fill up my Jeep Cherokee last week. Ouch!

I really like the EAS Carb Control shakes. They have 15g of protein and only 1 carb. Maybe I'll check out GNC today and see what they recommend.

My doc asked me to go on a low carb diet for 2 weeks before surgery. This is to shrink my liver to make it easeir for him to get around in there. Day 9 of the diet and I'm down 11 pounds! I get banded in 5 days!

Did anyone notice when Kat's dressed popped a button at the bottom? She kid of grabbed it like she knew it happened then right after that she walked in front of the camera and we almost saw her bloomers! She did look amazing. I think she has a better body than Pickle-her (lol) anyday!

I agree. I thought Katherine was awesome. I was shocked to hear what the judges said about her performance. As fas as Miss Pickler goes... her twang gets on my freakin' nerves! It makes her flat notes sound even worse! She needs to go!! Chris was INCREDIBLE! My favorite performance of his since he did "Walk the Line". My DH and I decided last night we really like Taylor as well. He has a lot more talent that a few of the people left. He won't go all the way but he is great. Elliot was good... wasn't quite as mindblowing as the judges made him out to be for us though. Paris was Paris... ho-hum. I think the bottom 3 tonight will be Taylor, Katherine and Paris. I'm still hoping for Kellie though!!

I was at 280 last week when I went for my preop. I am now at 270 and want to lose 100 pounds. I was around a size 13 when I think I looked and felt my best. I'm not hoping for miracles..... just a little boost! I have been trying different protein shakes lately. Today I tried EAS Carb Control in strawberry cream. It is sooooooo good! I think I found my new favorite!

Honey We're Killing the Kids is an incredible show. They use computers to project what the kids will look like at 40 if their unhealthy lifestyles continue. Pretty freaky. The premise is good.... I just hope those families can stick with healthier choices... for the kid's sake!

I feel your pain k@t. I am on day 5 of low carbs and it is killing me. I have lost about 5 pounds though! I'm pretty lucky that my doc didn't require a liquid diest preop.... I would have died!

Sleepyjean... looks like you are going first! You will have tell us how it goes so we know what we are in for! I just realized... if you are getting banded in 8 days that means I'm having surgery in 9 days. Wow! It has gone by fast! I'm starting to get pretty nervous.... I'm such a baby. Hope everyone else is doing great.

I'm scheduled for May 2. Started the low carb diet on Tuesday and it's killing me! I just keep telling myself only two weeks! Congrats on your date! Keep us updated on your progress!

WOW. My Chrissy was in the bottom three? What the hell? It was pretty much a gimme when it was down to Chris and Ace but I had my fingers crossed. Stranger things have happened on that show than voting off the worst. I was pretty shocked that Chris was in the bottom three. It was pretty crappy that they made Taylor choose who he thought was going to stay. I think they made Bo do that last year and he went and stood in the middle of the two groups. I'm not really familiar with next week's guest. I just wish they would do something more current to see what these kids can really do with newer material. Rod Stewart I thought was by far the coolest guest so far. He and Barry really seemed to be there for the kids and not to promote their latest endeavor. My 2 cents..... :faint:

I had my preop yesterday afternoon. We did a bunch of paperwork and we talked about my preop and postop diet. I think it has really started to sink in that I am going to do this. I left the surgeon's office in a bit of a daze. It's hard to believe that in 2 weeks I will be banded!

Katherine blew me away last night! She was incredible. It was nice to see the softer side of Chris... he just proves every week why he is my fave! Kellie was kind of creepy.... I would however kill to have a body like her in a dress like that! Paris was good... in her element for sure. Elliot I thought was great. I loved him leaning on the mic stand in the beginning. Ace sucked a big banana. I am so sick of him! Go away Ace! Taylor was good, doing the style he is great at. I think the bottom 3 tonight will be Kellie, Ace and Elliot. I'm hoping Ace or Kellie go but I'm guessing it will be Elliot. I think Kellie is in it for the long haul as much as I hate to admit it. Simon really likes her and America seems to listen to him. He predicted Carrie would win last year and we all know how that turned out!

Ugh. I'll find out all about my pre band diet here in an hour or so. At least I know it's not a liquid diet!

Very, very, very happily married to the best guy. He has been there for me through all my ups and downs with my weight, depression, ect. He is my biggest fan and is very excited for me to get banded. I kissed more than my share of frogs before I found my tattoo'd prince! :confused:

We had half in savings and the other half we took out a loan against my husbands car (which was already paid for). It was the best way for us to come up with the cash.

Wow! I am self pay and mine is costing me just under 10k here in CO. Its absurd how much insurance companies are charged and what they actually pay.... and we wonder why they keep jacking our rates!

This weeks episode was A LOT better! They are starting to get back to what I love about this show. I cannot beleieve they let Johnny Sack out for his daughters wedding.... like that would happen in the real world! I did notice all the references to weight in this episode. Ginny has certainly gotten bigger this year I think. It's nice that Johnny seems to love her all the same though ( even though he's a scum sucking pig). What the heck was Tony's deal at the end? Proving his manhood? Making sure everyone knew he was still the boss? I about died when they showed Vito in his gay biker gear. That was hysterical!! Do you think he killed himself? Or maybe someone else? See ya next week!

I am being banded May 2 at 9am. I am feeling excitment and nervousness. I am excited to feel like I am "getting on with my life" and getting on track to a healthier life. I am nervous about surgery, side affects and the band just plain ole not working for me. My husband is very supportive and excited for me to have the band. He's seen me spiral out of control the past couple of years with my eating and lack of energy. I don't ever want to do anything.... just easier to sit around the house. I just feel gross. I'm looking forward to feeling better about myself as I see some changes in the mirror. Let's all join together May bandsters and support each other! <!-- / message -->
