    Change in insurance

Husband lost his job and we had his insurance (BCBS). I signed up for insurance with my employer (Not BCBS). Anyone else go through this? Did you have to start all over? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lost insurance

We discussed that option, but we had BCBS of Michigan. They changed their policy to cover out of state medical to emergency only. We live in WI. Cobra would have been 900 per month. My insurance is 144 per month. After talking to my doctor, I think all should be well. Thanks everyone for yhe encouraging and positive words!! So glad I can vent here! Whew! Not losing pre surgery

Thanks for your honesty! I don't need ANYTHING sugar coated - LOL. I am super frustrated because I stayed at a steady 230 (give or take the usual 2 or so pounds). Since meeting with the NUT and adding whole grains to my diet, I've gained around 10 lbs! I also started Lyrica (which I'm discontinuing) about a month ago. I'm hoping in the next 2 months, I can lose that 10 lbs plus a bit more. I was a gym rat before getting pregnant with my son (18 years ago) and weighed 110 lbs. I gained 80 lbs with my pregnancy, went back to my trainers and we couldn't get it off. I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and piled on 50 more lbs. My point is I know what works best for my body (NO carbs, NO sugars) and I feel like trying what the NUT suggested totally threw me off. I'm frustrated. I'm going back to raw foods and protein. Sorry for the rant, but no one else will understand or advise

    Not losing pre surgery

What if you dont lose weight during the 6 month doctor supervised diet? Im 3 months in and I've gained weight. I also started Lyrica a month ago. I plan on kicking my diet up and quitting Lyrica but Im worried. Freaking myself out for no reason? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Why is it a secret?

While I choose to talk about it if it comes up, I absolutely respect each person's individual decision. Whatever you choose to do, just remember that you are strong and beautiful, and those that love you will do so no matter what! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Why is it a secret?

I agree. My thoughts are the more people know about what it's all about, the more supportive they become. It's fun to see the doubters go "Ohhhhh. I didn't know blah blah blah". We have an opportunity to educate people and possibly help someone else. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Nosy People

I had a coworker that had bariatric surgery and she didn't tell anyone. When asked, she said she had her gall bladder removed. When you make a lifestyle change, eventually people will put the puzzle pieces together. Whether they ask to be supportive or just to be nosy and gossipy, remember that this is YOUR journey. Don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable because you decided to do a great thing for yourself. Most of the time the opinions that matter, aren't from the people you work with. 20. Did month 1 pre-op visits in March '17. Stalled due to non supportive husband and I lost my job. Straightened his attitude, got a new job, and now I'm back in the saddle. Up until my pregnancy at age 26, my weight was at 100 to 110. I'd been a noodle my entire life. Weightlifting brought me up to 110 lbs and dropped me from a size 4 to a size 0. Pregnancy- not the beautiful experience everyone dreams of. Gained 80 lbs, 6 weeks bed rest before delivery. Terrible acne, 36 hour labor (pelvis too narrow). Horrible. My amazing son is 17 and I still look like I'm pregnant with twins, one of them is apparently gestating in my chin. I am at an all time high of 230, recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and sleep apnea. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago. This, my beautiful partners in the journey, is how mine came to be. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using BariatricPal mobile app
