  3. Cookies and Cream should really be in quotes lol do they ever really taste like their title chocolate lava, cookies and cream, vanilla lol wooohooo for protein shakes
  4. Sitting down catching up with all of your posts with my cookies and cream protein shake and it is becoming a bit surreal. I have my appointment this afternoon with the second surgeon who will be working on me and as long as they give a thumbs up and my blood work is all good we should be able to start the countdown.
  5. Who knows what the reasoning is starting weight, medical issues, Dr. preference
  6. I am getting closer to surgery day and part of my process has been to think of all the things I will gain as I begin to sacrifice my unhealthy relationship with food. I know the normal like clothes fitting and shopping at normal size stores etc., but I would love to hear what you guys are looking forward to. I think my most unique one is looking forward to getting out of wide shoes (I know this one might not happen I may actually just have a wide foot but it is one that I am hopeful about).
  7. Quest by far I really like that there are so many flavor options and they stay pretty close in the nutrition facts from flavor to flavor and you can bake them!
  8. October 9th right here so excited so nervous so tired of the shakes lol but this is worth it!!!!
  9. I did 25 days of 2 shakes and then half a chicken breast with broccoli and now I am doing 4 shakes (no broth no jell-o no popsicles) I am really having a hard time. I have been getting headaches and I have very little energy, Dr says all normal and to stick with it for the surgery I am good to go with a weigh in of 298 but her would like to see me down another 5-10 pounds by the 9th Starting weight 307 weigh in on 9-25 298 weight today 291
  10. Thanks for sharing I am headed to the hospital in 8 days and the ear phones thing is a great idea, I am also packing own non slip socks they are thick and comfy
  11. My revision approval took about 15 days if I remember correctly it was fairly quick but longer than I would have liked
  12. New to the group and my date is October 9th I am so excited and so scared at the same time original weigh in was 307 today I am at 291 I have done 25 days of 2 shakes and 3 oz of protein and broccoli and now I am doing 2 weeks of all shakes it is murder and I am not perfect I am very hungry and I have very little energy tonight I caved and had chicken and vegie soup NO NOODLES I have been drinking all of my water and I am actually pretty proud of that even if I pee all the time I am trying I want this very badly. This is a revision surgery from a lap band that I never really lost weight with and it ended up making me incredibly sick and after just about nine years all the sudden I couldn't eat or drink and my weight plummeted thanks to an exhausted esophagus that pretty much just gave up working so I am nervous about failure and because of that I might do the shame game with myself. Id love to be on this journey with all of you!!
  13. pre-surgery but what a great post I am reading and thinking about how our bodies are so dramatically different and how we gain weight in different spots My largest was 307 I am currently 291 5'4 in a size 20 pants and 3x shirt and my surgery date is Oct 9th so nervous and exited!!
  14. Thanks for the reply they gave me a pamphlet from bariatric advantage with what I needed underlined it is a very pricey brand I think I will ask about other options when I see them
  15. 11 days to go until surgery and I am busy buying all my stuff now before I get to stressed. My Dr told me all the vitamins I need to take but then only gave me one resource for those vitamins when I went onto the website and loaded up the cart it was a bit over 200 for vitamins. Do any of you have brand suggestions or any other helpful hints. I know the 200 is actually spread out over a few months but I have to pay a pretty large payment to the hospital and any savings out of the gate would be so very helpful.
  16. Hi all I am new to the support group and I am looking to create connection with those going through a similar set of circumstances. Let me set the stage 9 years ago a younger version of myself picked up the phone and called 1800lapband, if I could talk to that girl today....oh well. Any who I did that surgery and very frankly felt like I was being treated much like cattle it was a very bad experience. The lap band didn't really "take" I lost a grand total of 20 pounds and I genuinely kept it off for about 8 years then around August of 2015 I started getting really sick like I couldn't eat the same foods any more everything gave me the thick gross throw up that I lovingly call erping. In 5 months I dropped over 60 pounds and got to the point where I could not hold down water. I will admit it took me a while to go to the DR. because I was like oooohhhhh this is what the lap band is supposed to do ohhhh girl look how good these jeans look on me. I was getting weaker and weaker and finally I said enough and off to the Dr. I went. Turns out I had PARTIAL PARALYSIS of my esophagus. WHAT!!!! So they drained what fluid I had and told me I had to have the lap band removed and have a revision. I chickened out well that and the staff didn't give me warm fuzzies but mainly I sprouted feathers and ran away. During the year that followed I worked my butt off I did Pilates and joined a gym hired a personal trainer as well as a nutritionist, nothing I did worked and all those amazing jeans I bought you know the ones that made my butt glorious got packed away in a rubber maid container because when your body goes into starvation mode and then all the sudden you get food it holds on to every calorie as though it has never seen a calorie before. So 13 months after the day that they removed the fluid and allowed my esophagus to take a well deserved break I have gained a whopping 100 pounds you read that right 100 pounds. My smallest with the crippled esophagus was 207 and my initial weigh in with the new Dr. is 307. My revision surgery is set for October 9th and in the last 24 days I have lost 9 pounds (298), I am scared, frustrated, excited, worried, did I mention excited. I am ready for changes in my life and I already did the starvation bit so I am confident that I can handle what's coming but that doesn't mean I want to handle it alone.
