I just talked with Aetna and they said if I have a 10k maximum Aetna will pay towards bariatric, if the surgery is 17k total i will pay the difference of 7k. They told me the 2k out of pocket max only applies to the percentage i pay of the approved amount (10% of the 10k). Paying 7k sounds like a lot...any ideas?

Hey quick question...I have the same insurance and they told me they cover 10k lifetime benefit for the surgery...how do i estimate what the difference will be that i'll have to pay out of pocket? what did you end up paying?

They told me that was lifetime benefits for Bariatric surgery. But I can't seem to get any hospitals to give an estimate of what the total cost would be (so I know how much I'll have to pay after the 10k is met).

I went to a presentation and really liked Dr. Davis as well. He seemed very down to earth. How did you handle the insurance end? Did your insurance have a max cap? I have Aetna POS II with a 10k max and I'm wondering what the difference will be. Anyone have insight?
