  1. Ok so tomorrows the big day for me & the last few days I've found myself, well.. to the point I am having a lot of (excess?) concern & questioning myself on surgery...can this sort of thinking be normal sometimes before a big surgery? I should point out, I've never been in surgery before, never been under general anesthesia before. Im really afraid of something going wrong. Maybe part of it comes from that-never having had any surgery experience. Nonetheless, wondering if anyone has gone through any similar sort of psychological thought process earring their surgery day. Am I feeling a NORMAL sense of fear & anxiety considering the extent of surgery which lay before me? I've been on this wt loss journey for a very long time & never questioned having surgery once. Never! So why am I feeling so apprehensive now!? Please share thoughts!??
  2. My surgery was moved to tomorrow. The preop diet is where I'm at & I'm on is day 6. Doing great. I mean, yes-some hunger, but mostly Im ok. I requested a gallbladder removal but the Dr said they don't routinely do that. I told him I had a fam history of gallstones & he did a abd ultrasound & found a huge 3.5cm x 2.8cm gallstone!!!! (2inches!) yikes! Anyway so they said I'm going in a week early. The good news is now I'm only on the preop liquid diet a week instead of 2! Yaay! I've lost 7 pounds so far, but only after I figured out to use LOW SODIUM BROTHS!! Nothing came off til then & it all came off suddenly thereafter. Anyway I guess I was holding onto water weight but yet, the scale still dropped weight. Hey, weight lost is weight lost right!!! Anyway I'm sooo scared of going in tomorrow- I guess we all fear the worst but it's still going under deep anesthesia and risk of bleeding exists. ? ?
  3. My surgeon and nutritionist say to only weigh once weekly due to the brain getting discouraged if it doesn't see weight loss daily. Maybe that's something to think about in your case- it may help you step back a bit to give your new body a chance to recalibrate..? Just a thought, best wishes & a hug too!? Jennifer
  4. My mom had RNY and had the same symptoms twice several weeks apart and ended up waking up from sleep from pain. She went to ER and her RNY surgeon said it was a serious complication which required another surgery to fix the twisted intestine. I'm not saying yours is the same- but Ide definitely call or go see your surgeon asap. Best of luck love!
  5. Rny is Oct 24th & nervous, scared & excited all at once!??
  6. Loads of diarrhea on this 14 day preop liquid diet! I'm on day 3..
  7. New Surg Date! Well my surgery got moved up due to very high blood pressure and so now it's in LITERALLY 12 days! New surgery date is October 24th, 2017! Now for the hard part; I've been on the Pre-op liquid diet for 2 days now & 1st day-easyyyy peasyyy (prob because of newness of it all & im so hyper about getting this dang surgery already!) then... 2nd day-uhmmm..well not so excited- diarrheaaaaa cityyyy!!! Like massive blowouts & bad! Really prepare peeps- I think I'm prob drinking way more broth than most people so it's looks & smells like broth :/- sorry maybe TMI I know, (but not really when ya'll are going to need to know what can happen!) But hey, we need to get into ketosis to shrink that liver so I'de rather have more fluids than unnecessary protein in. I'm already getting in almost 80 grams of protein & still hungry so broths keep me the fullest. Today is day 3 so we'll see how it goes..!
  8. Awesome work!!!! I hope I can achieve great results too with determination and will power too!
  9. Just got my surgery date! So excited!! I got a call from the nurse yesterday and she said since my BP has been dangerously high at the last couple visits & at the exercise physiologists visit, their going to try to move the surgery date to October if any spot comes open! Yaay!
