  1. I'm almost 3 weeks out and now that I can eat solid foods I do feel much better
  2. I hope so. I'm not drinking caffeine so I better up my exercise. Maybe now I'll have to deal with life instead of hiding behind food.
  3. I've been pretty depressed too. I think I must have eaten my feelings away before and now I can't. I'm being very short with people and feel very sad. I hope it goes away.
  4. I had surgery on Monday and went back to work the following Monday (this week). Everyone thought I was crazy but I wanted some normalcy in my life. I am taking it slow and leaving early. I sit at a desk all day so it's not physically hard but I am tired when I get home, always fall asleep for a few hours on the couch.
  5. I had VSG on 9/18 and only stayed overnight. I couldn't wait to get out because I'm afraid of catching something in the hospital. And because my roommate never stopped talking. She's probably still talking to me and I left a week ago! Once home I sat in a recliner most of the times me except I slept in bed at night.
  6. I'm only 7 days out and I feel really depressed I guess because my relationship with food is over. Breakups are never easy. I keep reading that it gets better though and once I start eating real food I'll feel normal again
  7. So I guess I'm Day 6. I can have cereal, eggs, tuna fish tomorrow but like me you only 2 tablespoons 2x a day. I can't wait!!
  8. Thanks for clearing that up about staples. My dr never mentioned removing staples. I too had minimal pain and recovered quickly. I intend to go back to work tomorrow since I'm just sitting here at home. Oddly enough I'm watching the food Channel which I never watch and I'm dying!! I'm really looking forward to oatmeal tomorrow. 2 tablespoons only 2x a day but I'll take it.
  9. I know someone who used to freeze the protein shakes. I might try that.
  10. Costco sells Premier Protein shakes for $25 for 18. I'm on day 6 post-op (I think-do you count the day of surgery? If so then I'm on Day 7. I'm feeling depressed for some reason. I guess food gave me a lot of comfort. I think tomorrow I can have eggs and hot cereal. I'm really tired of jello, shakes, broth, ice pops. My lips are cracked and peeling so I need to drink more
  11. I'm scheduled for gastric sleeve on Monday September 18. The surgeon won't operate if I'm flaring and I haven't been but for the past week or so I have "leakage" (gross) and today I had an incident at lunch where it was sort of a flare. I do t know if it's my nerves or VSL#3DS that I take. I'm waiting for my gastro to call to see if maybe Canasa can help. When you had your surgery were you in complete remission?
