  1. I'm a civilian working on a military base. This week, two of the soldiers I work with commented "you're looking thinner" and "you look like you've been losing weight". Yay! I'm sure it didn't hurt that last weekend I found a new pair of black pants that fit instead of just sagging all over. 26 pounds down since surgery....
  2. You may have been swollen after surgery and ivs and had to lose that as well. You're on track, I'm sure, but your surgeon will talk to you about it at your followup Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. love this! which I still had his videos! I had a stretching to the classics that was so relaxing
  4. very cool. thanks for sharing!
  5. 6 weeks out and this is so true. And the bam! seems to happen faster if I forget to slow down or chew chew chew
  6. fork tender and mashable - yep. My NUT told me for some soft things like scrambled eggs, rather than mash them with the fork, just chew them well. Made food so much more appealing!
  7. I love oatmeal. Except I bought some think thin protein oatmeal while pre-op. One bowl of that almost turned me off oatmeal. However, I still have it so maybe I'll give it a 2nd chance tomorrow night in order to get some protein in for dinner. But if it's still nasty, it's going away!
  8. I tried a scrambled egg when I first went on purees. It took me a long time to get half of it down. I have had another since, but actually have had more luck with hardboiled (while on soft foods). Pureed chicken salad (yours sounded good - mine had greek yogurt, lemon juice, dried onions and herbs) went down a lot better. And I ate a lot of lowfat cottage cheese. I mixed ricotta with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and some splenda. Texture was a bit gritty but the flavor was good and it went down well.
  9. Yay! Of course every program is different, but 1 week post op my surgeon nor NUT were surprised by my low calorie intake. They just wanted to know about protein and fluids. At 4 weeks out I'm at about 670 calories per day. With such low food volume, it's tough to get more in. My program stresses 3 meals and no snacking if one can help it Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. My insurance required 3 mo supervised loss and my surgeon required that I lose 15 pounds. Tough over the holidays but I lost 17. I started by substituting a protein shake for breakfast daily and limiting carbs. Eventually did shakes for lunch as well. It made the transition to liquids a bit less shocking I think Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I cant type today Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. He uses the weight from my first consult with him as mt startinf weight, before my physician supervised session required by insurance Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Yay! You're on your way! I was so sleepy and preoccupied the morning of my surgery that I forgot what my weight was on my home scale and didnt write it down. So I use the morning of my preop appointment as my starting point. Doc uses first visit last year. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. For me, pudding was a puree, but@fluffychix had a great idea to thin down regular yogurt with protein drink Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Mr Fluffy is going to get jealous and move that blueberry syrup from the pantry to the nightstand!
  16. Bruises. I looked like I'd been beaten by a gang of thugs! You're doing fab! Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Bare beneath, hospital socks with tread. No undies until I went home. I normally am not fond of commando mode, but on pain meds, etc, I really didnt care Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

  20. I haven't had any problems with premier post surgery, but do find that i like the caramel and vanilla less than I did preop and the chocolate more. Haven't tried the cookies and cream yet, but picked up the peach from Sams when I found out. It's good. The first sip was really a peach wow. That tapered as I continued to drink but I enjoyed it!
  21. Denver, CO now. But hello to all my MD friends!! Lived there for 30 years before heading west. And @wishingskinni - hello to you too! We have good friends in Appleton and Neenah. Been there a number of times!
  22. It kills a Wolverine to agree with a Buckeye, but Kakatlady speaks the truth! Shake yourself and remind yourself why you had surgery in the first place. If you want to get there, you have to leave that junk alone! Some day you can have ONE reeses egg again, but not now. Do not hurt yourself after you did all the work to get to surgery!
  23. Hey all! I was sleeved on Jan 23, 2018. Yesterday was my one month surgiversary! Hubby took measurements for me a couple days prior to surgery and redid them last night to see how things have progressed beyond the scale. Woo hoo! We've got a good start going! Not sure why we went metric, but here's the results: 2 cm off belly/waist 6 cm off hips - YASSS!!! Explains why pants are seriously baggy 4 cm off bust 3 cm off neck - who knew I was carrying so much fat around my neck? 2 cm off rt arm 1 cm off right calf 2 cm off right thigh So thrilled with this! I can't wait to see what the numbers look like on Mar 23! My coats and jackets and clothes are getting big. It's still winter, so cold winds blowing up under loose jackets is becoming a problem! I did score a new fleece jacket for only $15 on a clearance sale today. It's way too small yet, but I will get there soon!
